Thinking about buying a swimsuit, we first of all care about the spectacular appearance, consider the style and coloring. But how often have you paid attention to the label indicating the composition of the fabric? And there is important information that must be studied before purchasing.

There are simple instructions on how to choose not only a beautiful, but also durable swimsuit. It is necessary to pay attention to the qualities of the fabric, such as: elasticity, lightness, resistance to ultraviolet rays, chlorine and sea salt. It is also important that the product does not lose its shape and dries quickly. And another important point – the fabric should not cause allergies and skin irritation, meeting all hygienic requirements.

If all this is taken into account, you will not have to buy a new swimsuit every season.

Good materials

Spandex

Also known as lycra or elastane. It is a synthetic material that is hardly ever used in its pure form to make swimwear. However, the addition of spandex (10-20%) to the base material qualitatively improves the product. Things perfectly fit the figure, do not lose shape over time and are less susceptible to burnout.

Tactel

You can also pay attention to tactel. This is a modern synthetic material that combines the properties of cotton and elastane. It is resistant to the active influence of the sun, durable and perfectly holds its shape. However, it is not easy to find in stores. You need to be prepared that the price of the product can bite.

Cotton

If you plan only to tan, you can pay attention to cotton (with the addition of spandex). It is denoted as Sottop or CO. Natural fabric easily transmits air, is hypoallergenic. It is important to remember that in contact with water, this material becomes heavy, takes longer to dry. But what to do if you want an openwork swimsuit? Choose blended fabrics, not 100% cotton.

Polyamide

Polyamide or PA on the label is a rather dense but quick-drying fabric. It has a beautiful shine. Basically, swimsuits are made of polyamide with the addition of 10-20% Lycra.

Due to this product fits better on the figure, does not lose shape, does not burn out, is resistant to chlorinated and sea water. The best option for both the pool and the beach. It is sure to last for several seasons.

Microfiber

Real connoisseurs choose microfiber. The secret is in the quality. True, you will have to pay a decent amount of money for a thing made of this fabric. But it is worth it. You get: comfort in contact with the body, elasticity and durability. The item will dry quickly and allow air to pass through. The fabric is also resistant to chlorine and salt. Therefore, luxury brands make swimsuits exclusively from this material.

Biflex

It is a mixture of synthetic fibers (nylon, lycra, microfiber or lurex). Biflex does not stretch, does not lose shape, does not fade, dries quickly and “breathes”. An important factor – favorably fits the body, emphasizing only the advantages. A pleasant bonus – it is difficult to get dirty.

Unsuccessful materials

Polyester

Most often in the budget segment swimsuits are sewn from polyester. Its designation is called “Polyester” or PES. Such a product withstands the effects of UV rays, chlorinated and salt water. It does not burn out, but, alas, very quickly loses its shape.

However, there is a way out. Study the label and choose products that are added spandex, which improves the characteristics of the fabric. Such a swimsuit and serves longer, and looks neater.

Nylon

Labeled Nylon or N. Swimsuits for professional athletes are often made of nylon. Why? It perfectly holds its shape and sits on the figure, is pleasant to the body. But there is a significant disadvantage – this fabric burns out very quickly in the sun.

So, to choose the perfect swimsuit, you need to pay attention to the composition of the fabric from which it is made. Give preference to synthetic materials. They are great for sewing bathing suits: quickly dry, do not crease, perfectly fit the figure. Choose blended fabrics (for example, polyester 85%, elastane 15%). They have better characteristics than textiles containing a single component (polyester 100%).
