Tomatoes have a number of beneficial properties. But are they really so useful and can they be eaten every day?

Tomato is an important source of lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that has immune-stimulating and antitumor effects.

Lydia: Tomatoes are recommended to include in the diet of pregnant women to prevent fetal developmental defects.

Thanks to their high vitamin C content, tomatoes also have a positive effect in diabetes, helping the body to absorb insulin and glucose.

Nutriciologist notes that tomatoes are rich in riboflavin, which helps alleviate migraine attacks.

Tomatoes contain not only vitamins A, B, K, E, C, potassium and healthy acids, but also have choleretic properties. Therefore, those diagnosed with gallstone disease, tomatoes should be eaten with extreme caution: they can provoke an attack due to the movement of stones in the ducts and occlusion (blockage) of the biliary tract.

Also, sensitivity to tomatoes increases with joint problems: the vegetables contain solanine, provoking pain. Therefore, if it is difficult to completely abandon them, it is necessary to at least reduce the amount in the diet.

It is important to remember that even fresh tomatoes can provoke edema, especially if there is a tendency to them. It should also be remembered that all salty and pickled products are harmful to people with cardiovascular diseases: they retain fluid in the body, thereby provoking an increase in blood pressure.
