The question that worries everyone: where to put the tent? It is recommended to do it on a dry, elevated and flat place. Nearby there should not be large dry trees. But thin trees with abundant foliage will help to create shade during the heat.
When choosing a location, do not be guided only by scenic beauty. This is an important factor, but not the main one. Pay attention to comfort and safety. When choosing a clearing for a rest try to adhere to the following principles:
- the space should be within walking distance of a road or railroad station. In case of injury or other emergency, you should be able to get to a populated area quickly;
- camp near water. Familiarize yourself with a map of verified springs in your area; this will ensure that you don’t have to take drinking water with you.
- If you are new to the world of hiking and have no special skills, choose equipped campsites or glamping sites.

Study in advance the area where you will be. Fence reflective tapes of the territory of the parking lot, mark dangerous places to avoid trouble.
It is very important to follow the rules of lighting a fire. It is not possible to build it everywhere, and this issue should also be worked out in advance. If a fire is necessary, cover the place for kindling with stones to avoid burning the grass around it. Never move away from the flame for long periods of time.
Don’t eat unfamiliar berries and mushrooms, don’t walk alone in unfamiliar terrain, and check each other for ticks, even if it’s not the season. These are basic rules that you need to pay special attention to. If they are followed, the vacation will be safe, comfortable and fun for all its participants.
