How to diversify the May holidays? List of activities you can do at home

During the May holidays, even those who had previously been forced to go to work during the general isolation found themselves at home. And although the weather is finally warm outside, it is still unsafe to spend time outdoors. Therefore, responsible vacationers think of ways to diversify the stay in the four walls, and many online platforms rush to help them in this. We tell you what virtual activities you can do alone or with the whole family. And the vast majority of them are free. And it’s not just about training!

Training and the new “Championship” show

Every morning in our official VKontakte group there are online classes with professional instructors in functional training, soccer, yoga and running. These guys will definitely not let you lose shape even after a hearty weekend of kebabs. And if you couldn’t wake up early and missed the broadcast, don’t worry: all trainings are saved in the community videos.

And in the evenings, “Championship” is waiting for you in its Instagram to show episodes of the new show #StayHome. In the live mode our correspondents talk to interesting personalities from the world of big sports. The guests of the project have already become tennis player Karen Khachanov, gymnast Yana Kudryavtseva, wife of Evgeny Malkin Anna Kasterova, soccer player Alexander Kerzhakov and others. Follow the latest announcements in social networks, so as not to miss the releases with new heroes.

Large-scale project #hometeam from adidas

The #hometeam project is not only about sports, although, of course, they are allocated a large amount of time in the program. Live on the official “instagram” of adidas in Russia, there are regular online training sessions of various kinds, led by qualified instructors and famous athletes. Digital competitions are also held in real time.

But, as we have already said, the large-scale idea of our friends includes other interesting activities. For example, in May, the Ballet Moscow theater joined #hometeam, and its actors hold classes in stage craftsmanship for everyone. And the educational project “Now Tak” is ready to share with you the subtleties and rules of careful consumption. So you won’t be bored on May Day!

Competitions within four walls are not the only exciting initiative of Ironstar. Every day the guys fill their Instagram account with useful interviews, quizzes, meditation lessons, morning exercises, cooking and cardboard crafts workshops, as well as tales about triathlon (yeah, yeah, you didn’t see it coming). And all this in video format, because it’s much more interesting to watch than to read or listen.

Cooking with top chefs

When, but not now, you can plunge headlong into household chores and do all the things you haven’t had time to do. And if before you did not have time to cook for yourself, now you can safely experiment at the stove and do it under the guidance of famous chefs from around the world. Since all restaurants and cafes are closed, culinary pros from the U.S. and Russia have begun to connect with their audiences via Instagram. For example, chef and owner of several restaurants in Miami Brad Kilgore and his wife constantly publish detailed video recipes in their stories. And the couple admitted that they started doing this out of idleness, and then, after receiving a lot of positive feedback, they got involved and decided to continue.

In Russia, restaurateurs Tahir Kholikberdiev and Stanislav Lisichenko, meat sommelier Pavel Potseluev, brand-chef Vladimir Mukhin, and TV presenter Alexander Belkovich joined this initiative. Moreover, the establishments themselves have also gone online. For example, Moscow’s House of Cultures holds online brunches with a guest star or chef, and the City Friends café can bring you all the products you need to take part in their master class.

For example, TED Talks lectures in English (with subtitles if desired) have long been popular around the world. During the existence of the project, the archive has accumulated thousands of motivational video stories. One of them was the personal experience of actress and sportswoman Aimee Mullins, who lost both legs at the age of one year, but now confidently walks the runway and shows impressive results on the treadmill.

Extreme athlete Lewis Pugh has swum across the English Channel, rounded the Cape of Good Hope and crossed a river in the ice of Antarctica. This daredevil knows exactly what it means to be strong in the human spirit and the challenges of Earth’s changing climate. And, most importantly, such people are ready to unselfishly share their valuable experience with listeners.
