How to behave at the table, if you are on a diet?

Any feast is a test of strength. Being a guest, answer yourself an important question: “Is your diet so important to you and what is its meaning?”. After all, you’ve probably put certain food restrictions in place for a reason. If you are confident in your choice, it will be difficult to “throw you off course” and reel you in for cakes.

Calmly explain your position to the celebrant, who, most likely, will understand you and will not insist (except as a joke). Didn’t work? Then follow these rules:

Stand up for personal boundaries

Work on self-esteem. When someone else’s needs are more important than your own and you’re willing to compromise your values and devalue your choices (even if it’s a “small bite” that doesn’t fit into your diet) – you’re betraying yourself, as pathetic as that sounds.

Big things, and life in general, are made up of little things. And when you give in here, give in there – you actually lose respect, both in your own eyes and in the eyes of those who are “offended” by your choice. And the choice – to break the diet or not – it is only yours.

You should not “bend” to the majority just because “that’s the way it is”. After all, in fact, there is nothing offensive in eating the food that you want, and not to eat the food that you do not want. Do not overeat and remember that satiety does not come immediately, but 15-20 minutes after eating. Try not to eat sweets and fruits after the feast – it is better to wait for some time so that the main foods have time to digest. As for drinks, it is desirable to exclude alcohol and sodas from the menu. The best option will be clean drinking water or tea.
