How to set up your home so that you have a place to play sports

It’s no secret that many people start their first steps towards training and sports with exercises at home. Comfortable atmosphere and complete freedom in actions and movements make home workouts special. However, after a month of such classes, the “athlete” begins to lack the equipment to move to a new strength level. Therefore, most people soon begin to visit fitness clubs equipped with sports equipment.

That’s all well and good, but due to the rising incidence of disease during the pandemic, more and more people are reverting back to home workouts. Of course, exercising at home ensures health and safety not only for the person exercising, but also for their entire family.

We spoke to an expert and learned ways to properly and most effectively set up a home exercise area.

Just two to three square meters of free space is enough to be able to lie down, stand up; raise your arms up, to the sides, in front of you and take a couple of steps without anything getting in the way.

How to organize the space?

Is it really that simple? Indeed, the effectiveness of home training does not depend on a large number of tricked-out exercise machines or a large collection of dumbbells, but on the proper organization of your sports area. As it turns out, this requires a small space, which, if desired, everyone can cozily arrange in their apartment.

However, many may wonder: how to fit all the sports equipment in the area “two by two meters”? To solve this question, Sergei told about the main principles of your home sports zone and what equipment it should include.

Necessary equipment

Fitness mat

For home workouts, just one fitness mat will suffice, as most exercises can be performed with your own body weight. This will be effective for working on flexibility, speed and body coordination.

A huge plus point of the mat is its versatility. As Sergey mentioned, the mat can be used for stretching as well as for various cardio and strength training videos. And all this on a small area of your room.

Various types of push-ups, horizontal pull-ups, stretching, abs exercises and many other functional exercises become available when you have this equipment.

Folding treadmill

A good investment will be a folding treadmill, which is specially manufactured for home use. After a workout, you can stow it under the bed and it won’t even be visible in the home. Fold it up, run and put it back away – comfortable and effective!

Fluballs

Fluballs are also great for home use – balls with liquid inside from 3 to 11 kg, which have a number of advantages over the usual medballs – weighted ball-shaped weights.

When working with a flubball, additional stabilizer muscles are included, and even if it’s lying on your shelf or on the floor, it will be a great addition to your interior.

One of the pleasant properties of Flubol is its unusual appearance, as inside it there is a liquid that shimmers beautifully both in the daytime and in the evening.

With the competent arrangement of personal space and the right selection of sports equipment, home workouts can become not only a useful pastime, but also effective work on creating a healthy and strong body.

Start training at home right now!
