But only fresh (no jokes about the loaf becoming last year’s at midnight). The bane of any New Year’s celebration is overeating. Why is it so? The sheer amount of already prepared food makes our “check the fridge to see what’s changed” trips productive. There’s always a piece staring back at you.

But preparing a moderate amount of food to suit your diet and tastes won’t put your body to the test. Revise your menu, make it personalized and unlike anything else. And enjoy!

Choose what you would really like to eat. This will help you not to overeat and get satisfaction from the feast.

Say yes to sleep

The second thing that changes rapidly after the New Year’s holidays is sleep. For those who still commute to the office on a daily or regular basis, New Year’s celebrations are like going back to school days, when vacations changed the daily routine. But a Harry Potter marathon until morning accompanied by salads is better not to turn into your New Year’s Eve routine. Unfortunately, magic doesn’t happen at the holidays: if you sleep more than necessary, you will inevitably get a feeling of brokenness.

Instead of frantic naps, try to reestablish a regimen and make it healthier. To do this, just gradually shift your bedtime and wake-up time, at least half an hour at a time. This way, by the end of the holidays, you’ll not only be able to rest, but also lay the groundwork for a new healthy lifestyle in the coming year.
