7 promising riders you should start keeping an eye on now

All of the extreme athletes we’re about to tell you about are under 22 years old. But they’re sure to make a big name for themselves in the near future and – who knows? – perhaps already this winter season. Together with the Quiksilver New Star Camp sports and music festival, we have compiled a list of promising Russian skiers and snowboarders who you should start following on Instagram right now.

Vlad Khadarin

Age: 21 years old.
Discipline: big air and slopestyle, snowboarding.

By the age of 21, Vlad had managed to take silver in slopestyle at the Youth Olympic Games in 2016, win the World Cup stage in big air and be the first in the world to do the frontside 1800 trick – that is, to make five (!) turns around his axis in the air and land successfully. This is no joke.

Interesting fact: Khadarin lives and trains in Italy, but he competes for Russia in all competitions. In our country you can catch him at the New Star Camp festival, which is held annually at the Rosa Khutor resort.

Anastasia Tatalina

Age: 19 years.
Discipline: freestyle skiing.

Nastia first started skiing at the age of 12, and at the age of 16 she took part in her first World Championship. At the age of 17 the skier stormed the Olympic Games in South Korea, where she took twelfth place in ski slopestyle. In addition, Tatalina is a two-time silver medalist of the Russian Championship. The girl also performs in halfpipe.

In the 2018-19 season, she finished second in slopestyle at the Universiade and took silver at the Russian Freestyle Games in big air.

What follows is a bit about snowboarding prodigies.

Vasilisa Ermakova

Age: 6 years.
Discipline: freestyle, snowboarding.

Little Vasilisa started snowboarding at the age of three. Now she confidently races on all kinds of boards: skateboard, longboard and snowboard, does tricks. With some of them she got into the Russian Book of Records. Vasilisa is the youngest rider who made a jump with a 540-degree rotation.

At six years old, the girl skates better than most adults on the ski slopes, trains several times a week even in the summer, has an impressive pool of sponsors and almost thirty-five thousand followers on Instagram.

Miron Likhomanov

Age: 5 years.
Discipline: snowboarding.

Another very young but promising rider. Miron confidently rides a snowboard – both on pistes and on puffy or freshly fallen snow, and does small tricks. In summer he switches to a scooter.

The boy’s mom is a snowboard instructor. The family loves the mountains, and the child is accustomed to the same. We have every chance to see both Miron and Vasilisa in ten years as members of the Olympic team.
