Still sleeping in your pajamas? But what if you try sleeping naked? There are tons of benefits to such a habit.

Researchers from Amsterdam found out that people who sleep naked are definitely healthier and happier. The fact is that sleeping without clothes affects the duration of the deep phase, which is most important for regeneration and recovery of the body. Here’s how it works.

Body temperature regulation

Researchers from the University of South Australia have linked poor body temperature regulation to insomnia. A lower body temperature during sleep improves sleep quality and reduces the number of night wakings, even if the difference is only one degree.

To fall asleep, the body needs to lower body temperature, and without clothes, this happens naturally. The fact is that in the coolness is better produced melatonin – a hormone that is responsible for the quality of sleep. Thus, night rest becomes more qualitative.

Protection from bacteria and skin diseases

Sleeping without pajamas provides airflow, which prevents bacteria from multiplying and reduces the risk of skin diseases. Fungus likes a closed and warm environment, so if you are prone to candidiasis (fungal disease), it is advisable to wear loose pajamas or forgo clothing altogether at least while sleeping.

Sleep heals and helps keep you fit. Collected scientific evidence in the previous material.

Feet, intimate areas and armpit area, which are usually covered with clothes all day, it is better not to restrain at night with tight clothes.

Positive emotions

Sleeping without clothes increases the production of oxytocin, also known as the “love hormone,” which makes us feel more fulfilled and happy. Why? It’s simple: clothes are unnatural to us, restricting movement, squeezing and chafing.

Also, the release of oxytocin by contact with our partner’s skin during sleep normalizes blood pressure and strengthens the relationship. This body contact further increases the level of trust between partners.

Stress reduction

Sleeping naked reduces the level of cortisol, a stress hormone, thus preventing an increase in blood pressure and bad cholesterol, appetite, interrupted sleep and decreased libido. This is the conclusion reached by scientists at the National Sleep Foundation.

Recovery

Sleep disturbances due to uncomfortable pajamas can lead to a lack of growth hormone, which interferes with the overnight repair process of bones, muscles, and skin.

Seams, elastic bands, and buttons disrupt blood circulation, causing tissues to be unable to receive the necessary amount of nutrients.

Improved metabolism

Staying naked during the night is also useful because it speeds up metabolism.

How exactly sleeping without clothes helps you lose weight, read on.

Those who sleep in clothes, more often wake up at night, thereby stimulating a drop in the level of the hormone leptin. As a result – an increase in appetite in the morning.

Productivity

Sleeping without clothes makes us less lazy. Think of how some people use pajamas as an excuse to stay home for the rest of the day. This can lead to a sedentary lifestyle that provokes weight gain and more.

On the other hand, when we get out of bed naked, we willy-nilly force ourselves to put our clothes on. Thus, we spend more time in a state of activity.
