Lying on the couch or racing a sports car? 6 vacation options for different personality types

In our dynamic time, we have to manage a lot of things: to work, to develop, to solve household issues, to take care of our loved ones and to give time to ourselves. The aftertaste of pleasant little victories is, of course, pleasing and fulfilling. But it is necessary to rest and find resources for “resetting”.

What kind of leisure will be optimal, will fill with energy and give an impetus to new successes? After all, some people like to lie on the couch and watch their favorite TV series. Others – jogging at the stadium, sports activities, noisy parties and meetings with friends. Why such a difference? It’s all about the six personality types and individual psychological needs.

What are the personality types?

If we look at vacation choices through the PCM method, a communication model process, it becomes clear why the same family, team or group of friends can have diametrically opposed preferences in terms of recreation.

This tool quickly and effectively helps to establish better communication with others. We begin to understand ourselves and our loved ones better, adding positivity to our interactions and reducing conflict and resulting stress.

There are six personality types. Each has certain characteristics, and most importantly, their own psychological needs that need to be met.

“Soulful”: loves family and friends, surrounds everyone with care and warmth.

“Rebel”: perceives the world through playful contact, loves freedom and fun.

“Logician”: responsible for any task, punctual, disciplined, enjoys honing his skills in his favorite business.

“Actor”: does not sit in one place, charming, fast, likes to compete, risk and win.

“Dreamer”: fantasizes, tends to introversion, contemplation.

“Stubborn”: perceives the world through values and beliefs, adheres to principles, argues.

Of course, several personality types can be combined in one person. For example, if you like to dream and fantasize, often dangling in the clouds, it does not mean that you are alien to punctuality or love of freedom and fun. Still, a certain type of personality is predominant and stands out against the background of others, and the rest go as a complement.

Choose vacation options according to your personality and be sympathetic to the fact that someone close to you does not share your preferences. Try to find common interests, make healthy compromises and respect each other’s needs.

What kind of vacation suits different personality types?

For the “Soulful ” – to be with family and loved ones, to feel unity and enjoy communicating with relatives.

For the “Rebel ” – have fun with friends by organizing a noisy party.

For the “Logician ” – start reading a book that will deepen your knowledge. Also engage in breathing practices to relieve stress from intense work.

For the “Doer ” – rent a sports car and drive around the city at night.

For the “Dreamer ” – go on a three-day retreat or just be alone with yourself.

For the Persistent – go to a lecture on a topic of interest or write a long, deep post on social media.

No guilt

Remember that the only way to really “recharge your batteries” is to satisfy the psychological need that is most pressing for you at the moment. If you want to lie in a hammock in nature and do nothing, that’s fine.

Do not immerse yourself in guilt because you did not fulfill over the weekend or vacation period some plan accepted in society, did not post on social networks “evidence” of active rest. This is your choice and right.
