I was advised to buy a Kuznetsov needle applicator by a neurologist when I underwent a course of massage and manual therapy during the treatment of osteochondrosis. The tool is a mat consisting of plastic or metal spikes designed to stimulate certain points on the body.
The doctor recommended lying on it every day. He said that this would help to deeply relax tight muscles, relieve tension and spasms, which is the most common cause of cervical, shoulder and back pain.
In addition to this main impact, the doctor cited a few other pros of using the mat:
- Increases energy levels in the morning;
- has an analgesic effect;
- stimulates blood circulation and oxygenates the cells;
- allows to normalize cellular metabolism and accelerate the process of cleansing the body;
- has a massage effect;
- helps to get rid of cellulite.
How to choose
There are many variants of applicators – by size, thickness of the mat, material and sharpness of the needles. If you have a slim build, experts advise buying a mat on a soft backing. At first I ordered without it – the needles were sewn on a thin fabric.
So, I could not lie down on it, as they were digging into my body, it was painful and uncomfortable. The problem was solved by a soft mat. In terms of size, the optimal option for me was the format 60×40.
How to use
You should land on the mat very carefully, slowly and with your whole body at once, as the needles are sharp and it is very easy to scratch yourself. This has happened to me more than once. It takes time to get used to using it.
It is better to increase the time gradually, listening to your feelings. At first I could not last a minute on it, now I can lie for 20-30 minutes. You will get used to it quite quickly and really start to feel the effect.
What effect
First of all, the applicator invigorates me, so I use it only in the morning immediately after waking up. The effect is about the same as with coffee. I know that many needles, on the contrary, relax. A friend told me that she lies on it before going to bed and can even fall asleep like that!
I also tried to use it in the evening, but it has the opposite effect on me – that night I could not fall asleep at all. Apparently, everything is very individual.
Secondly, the spasms and clamps really go away. The muscles relax, the back straightens, and there is a feeling of lightness.
Thirdly, it can also be used as an excellent anti-cellulite treatment.
Of course, if there are problems in the form of back pain or other, it is not recommended to rely only on the Kuznetsov applicator for all health conditions, and it should not be used as a substitute for medical treatment. It is also important to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for safe and proper use of the applicator.

The Kuznetsov Iplicator is a popular acupressure device that is used to stimulate pain points on the body. It can relieve pain in the neck, back, shoulders and other parts of the body.
The pressure points stimulated by the Kuznetsov applicator promote relaxation and reduce stress and anxiety. The device can help improve blood flow and circulation in various parts of the body.
Contraindications
Open wounds. The Kuznetsov Iplicator should not be used on open wounds, as it can cause further damage and potential infection.
Pregnancy. Pregnant women should avoid using the Kuznetsov applicator as it can stimulate pressure points, which can induce labor or cause other complications. While this cannot be called a direct contraindication, the fact is that many medical devices are not tested on pregnant women (humanity first), so we cannot speak 100% about harm or benefit. If your doctor is okay with it, use it.
Certain medical conditions. People with certain medical conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure or epilepsy should consult a doctor before using the Kuznetsov applicator, as it may worsen their condition or cause other health problems.
In general, the applicators cannot cause total harm if used correctly. The danger lies in the masking of diseases. If you have long-lasting pain, for example, in the back, you should see a doctor for diagnosis, rather than trying to cope on your own.
