You can encounter visual noise anywhere.
Hope: In fact, everywhere. Both on the street, and at home, and sometimes even in the workplace. Most often such pictures can be seen in the older generation. After all, a couple of decades ago, a large number of things in the interior was perceived by people as an indicator of abundance.
For example, you are going to do some exercise in the morning. But you caught a glimpse of the mess on the bed while you were cleaning it, noticed the brightly colored cans of cosmetics – you were distracted by them. Then a pile of papers on the bedside table. And so on and so forth. Both in mind and body, you’ve strayed far from your training plans.
How does visual noise affect a person?
Nadezhda: An excess of visual information completely defocuses attention and makes it difficult to concentrate on something specific. Often you don’t even notice it. But still a certain share of our attention is attracted by surrounding objects.
This noise disturbs our focus. Sometimes that’s why people don’t deal with it for a long time: they don’t want to focus on certain cases and objects. Cluttering of space can be a defensive reaction of consciousness to serious situations in life. For example, such a disease as shopaholism is the result of this defense reaction. It, in its turn, can grow into hoarding of various objects at home or manic collecting.
Often, as mentioned above, the external disorder is a reflection of the internal. And if a person does not really want to deal with the problems inside himself, he may not want to organize his life externally. Therefore, with good observation, you can notice this reluctance to throw out or clean up anything. This will be an important wake-up call that will prevent the visual noise from taking over the surrounding space.
