Didn’t get enough sleep again? It’s time to put an end to it.

Morning is the most important, but for most, a confusing and frustrating part of the day. Hal Elrod, the author of the bestseller “The Magic of Morning”, in his book told how, by changing your attitude to the morning, you can achieve everything you want and become an outstanding person.

One of the main rules of the “wonderful morning” – do not postpone the alarm clock. Every time we tell ourselves “I’ll sleep for 5 more minutes”, we push back the process of our transformation into the person we want to become.

Before you start the rituals

At the very beginning of waking up, all you need to do is follow just five rules to increase your level of productivity from the moment you wake up.

  • As you fall asleep, think only about how awake and productive you will be in the morning – scientists have confirmed that the last thought we fall asleep with is the one we have when we wake up. That’s why you need to set yourself up for a positive mindset every night before you go to bed.
  • Put the alarm clock as far away from the bed as possible – this will force you out of bed and you will have less desire to get back into it.
  • Brush your teeth and wash your face with cold water – doing these things “on automatic” gives yourself time to wake up.
  • Drink a glass of water – the purpose of this action is to restore the water supply that you have lost overnight. Lack of water in the body causes fatigue.
  • Put on sports clothes – you have to “earn” a morning shower, first having a good sweat.

All of these seemingly obvious rituals can wake you up from level 1 to level 6-7 (on a 10-point scale). But how do you achieve vigor on that level 10 scale?

It is the first hour after waking up that determines our mood for the entire day. Hal Elrod developed the “Wonderful Morning” tactic specifically for the first hour after waking up to forget the rush and get your mind and body fully prepared for a productive day. In Hal’s own words, the six rituals below are “guaranteed to save you from a life of unrealized potential.”

Ritual #1. Silence – 5 minutes

Silence is one of the best tools for reducing stress and achieving clarity. Of course, just “silence” is a vague concept. During this time you can meditate, reflect, pray, express gratitude, and practice deep breathing.

Ritual #2. Affirmations – 5 minutes

Affirmations are positive affirmations that you form on your own to achieve your goals. Affirmations should be in writing and reflect one hundred percent of what you want. It is also better to spell out why you want it, what kind of person you should become in order to achieve it, and also define what you need to do in order to get what you want. But the essence of the method is not just to formulate your affirmations – they should be reread (preferably aloud) every day. Well, if you really like affirmations, it does not hurt to read it expressively. You can even climb on the roof of the house and shout it!

Ritual #3. Visualization – 5 minutes

Visualization is the formation of clear pictures and scenes of your future success in your head. Sit comfortably, close your eyes and draw in your imagination what you really want to get. Visualize the main goals, innermost desires, trying to draw as many details as possible. This practice will definitely program your subconscious mind for success!

Ritual #4. Reading – 15 minutes

Whatever you want to achieve in life – there are plenty of books on how to get it. Reading 15-20 pages a day won’t take much time, but in that time you’ll probably find an interesting or motivating thought to ponder throughout the day.

Ritual #5. Keeping a daily diary – 5 minutes

For many people, keeping a daily journal is an inspiring and self-esteem-boosting activity, which is why it’s a favorite. During this time you can formulate on paper the main goals of the day (psychologists recommend setting no more than three main tasks for the day), reread what you have written, assessing your progress, and identify new ideas. The main thing is to decide what you will write about (it can be gratitude, food diary, checklists, dreams, ideas, and so on).

Ritual #6 Sports – 20 minutes

It’s no secret that morning exercise significantly increases energy levels, allows you to focus better and think more effectively. There are no rules here – put on your favorite music and start doing your favorite exercises. But you need to do it regularly, otherwise what’s the point?

Start changing yourself now – organize a 30-day “wonderful morning” challenge and see how your life will change in a month!
