Rooftop concerts and family soccer: 8 outdoor summer festivals in Moscow

Open-air events have long been a favorite of residents and guests of the capital. There are more and more events for every taste and color, and everyone can find something for themselves: from classical music and rock to soccer and yoga. We have collected the most interesting ones that will take place in Moscow this summer.

ROOF FEST

When: from June 15 till the end of September

Where: VK Gibsy club, Bolotnaya Square, d. 3, p. 2 and Fantomas Rooftop, Bolotnaya Ploshchad. 3, pp. 4.

Concerts of famous performers are held on rooftops. Favorite hits at the height of a bird’s flight will leave lasting impressions of the summer-2023. The events were first organized eight years ago. During this time, Vyacheslav Butusov, Dima Bilan, Rita Dakota, Eva Polna, Polina Gagarina, MOT and others have taken the stage.

Polygon Fest

When: June 17 and 18

Where: VK Music Summer Stage

Two-day open-air event will gather all fans of heavy music. On the first day the audience is expected by the program “Loud Russian”. The best hits of this genre will be collected here. On the second day – Forever Punk, where you can hear exclusively slam and mosh.

Moscow Jazz Festival

When: June 19

Where: Hermitage Garden, VDNKh, Zaryadye Park, Museon and the square near TSUM.

On a summer evening, jazz lovers will be able to enjoy a program presented by People’s Artist of Russia Igor Butman, the Moscow Jazz Orchestra and singer Larissa Dolina, as well as invited guests.

In total there will be about 1000 musicians on stage. The event is unique, because there are no analogs of such scale in the world. In the capital this festival is held for the second time. In addition to concerts, master classes and entertaining animation for children are planned.

International Yoga Day in Russia

When: June 25

Where: Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve

The festival is organized by Organic People, a company that promotes healthy lifestyle. They launch all kinds of social programs. For example, “Yoga in parks”, “Meditation in parks”. Now the turn has come to the festival. Last year it was visited by more than 100 thousand people, this summer 130 thousand people are expected. In addition to practices, there will be performances by artists of such styles as kirtan (mantras) and electro. There will be a dance floor with master classes and a children’s zone.

The fair will open its doors, where you can buy yoga clothes, handicrafts from around the world, healthy food, natural cosmetics, eco-goods and vegetarian products. Plans are in the works to hold the most mass meditation in the country on the main stage.

VK Fest

When: July 15 and 16

Where: Gorky Park (Krymsky Val, 9)

A great opportunity to spend summer days with quality music. Famous artists, bloggers, athletes and actors will gather in the capital. The organizers will prepare several thematic zones where everyone can find something to do. Fan meetings, lectures, sports competitions, etc. This year there will be several stages: blue – mainstream, white – rap and alternative, purple – indie music.

Which musicians will be performing? ANNA ASTI, JONY, Big Baby Tape, HammAli & Navai, Zivert, Klava Koka, Yolka, Lolita, L’One, Boulevard Depo, Lyusya Chebotina. And this is only a small part of the list.

Moscow Wellness Fest.

When: July 29

Where: Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve

Spend a weekend in the company of like-minded people at the Moscow Wellness Fest. What will be in the program? Trainings, seminars, psychology practices. Lectures will be given by psychologist-sexologist Evgenia Lipchinskaya, gastroenterologist Sergey Vyalov, somnologist Roman Buzunov, international presenter Alexander Fomin, co-founder of the first yoga village Vanberry Village Rauf Asadov and others. The day will end with a concert and dancing at sunset. There will also be wellness-market and children’s entertainment zones.

Battle of the Cities – 2023

When: Aug. 12-15

Where: Fyodor Cherenkov Football Academy (23 Maly Oleniy Pereulok, p. 1A)

Family soccer festival will be held in Sokolniki. Registration is required to participate. The festival is for athletes of any level of training. The organizers promise that there will be equal opponents for everyone. In total, about 250 teams – 2000 young players – will take the field. They will represent 80 cities of our country. There will also be animation for children, prize drawings, bright opening and closing of the festival. But the main thing is a meeting with famous guests and veterans of Spartak.

Sandlerfest

When: August 20

Where: VDNKh (Green Theater, Palace of Culture, Pavilion 42, Hippodrome and Rock Panorama).

The annual rock music festival of producer Igor Sandler brings together world-famous artists and young performers who are just starting out. More than 100 bands will take part in the festival. Among the famous at different times performed “Gorky Park”, Olga Kormukhina. The event also includes a “Tribute Festival”, where you can listen to world hits by Metallica, Pink Floyd, Queen, Depeche Mode arranged by a symphony orchestra.
