Top 5 long-livers among mustachios

Flossie from Great Britain

To date, the English cat is the oldest of its class currently living in the world. The Guinness Book of World Records has officially registered the achievement of a long-lived cat. Flossie is 26 years old and will soon age another year. By human standards, she’s about 120 years old.

The cat began her long, happy life in December 1995. Then she was brought home from the street by an employee of an English hospital. Ten years after the owner’s death, Flossie got a new owner – his sister. After the cat had lived in another home for 14 years, her owner changed again. It became the son of the first owner.

In August 2022, the man gave the animal to a cat shelter. By that time Flossie was almost blind and deaf. Now she lives in the shelter, where she is cared for by veterinarians. They note that health problems do not prevent the long-lived cat from leading an active lifestyle and eating delicious food.

Krimm Puff from the USA

The cat from the state of Texas is officially considered the record holder for longevity. She lived from August 3, 1967 to August 6, 2005. The pedantic owner officially recorded the pet’s achievements in the Guinness Book of Records. She lived 38 years and three days. If translated into human age, it is more than 160 years.

As the owner noted, the secret of longevity was hidden in the special diet of his favorite cat. He fed her bacon, eggs and broccoli. But, most likely, this is just a joke from the owner. Bacon is not the healthiest food for cats.

Crimm Puff’s owner had another cat named Granpa Rex Allen. He, too, made it into the Guinness Book of World Records. Rex lived a shorter life, only 34 years and three months. Perhaps the secret of long life and hid in the special diet of pets.

Rabble from the UK

Another fluffy cat became famous for its longevity in Britain. A huge red cat lived next to his owner for 31 years. If you translate the age into human terms, the cat was 150 years old.

Rabble appeared at the owner on her 20th birthday in 1988 and replaced her children. She pampered and coddled the cat like a child, surrounding him with care and love. He would have turned 32 in May 2020. But, unfortunately, the cat could not live to see that date.

Velvet from the USA

The most stellar long-lived cat from social media. Until the appearance in November 2022 of the British Flossie, the American Velvet held the palm of supremacy. In 2015, it was he who was declared the world’s oldest living cat. At that time, he was also 26 years old. His mistress actively covered the history of the favorite.

Velvet had his own page in social networks, where recommendations on care, nutrition and the daily life of the elder were published. However, in 2016, the cat ran away from home and has not returned. It is only worth guessing how many years Velvet lived after his escape.

Dashun from Russia

A Siamese cat from Tyumen also made it into the Guinness Book of Records as the longest-living cat in Russia. He is now 24 years old. By human standards more than 120 years.

The unusual name of the cat appeared by accident. The owner first thought that a cat had appeared in the family, and named the pet Dasha. As it grew up, Dasha was transformed into Dashuna.

As the owner of the long-lived cat notes, she did not apply any special diets and care to the cat. The main condition for a comfortable life of the pet is affection, warmth and careful attitude to animals. Besides Dashun, the owner has three more cats.

Love and care are the main conditions of longevity for your pets. Conduct regular vet examinations, play and treat cats and kittens with care. Then they will be able to please you for a long time.
