Brad Pitt and Mikhail Yefremov are the same age. What is the secret of the Hollywood superstar?

Recently, Internet users were struck by a selection of photos, the authors of which compared Russian and Hollywood actors. One of the comparisons was devoted to Mikhail Efremov and Brad Pitt. And compared not their awards for work in the film industry or the number of filmed roles, and age. Surprisingly, but Michael was older than his Western counterpart for … 1 month and 8 days – which can not be said for their appearance.

Indeed, in the coming December Brad Pitt will be 56 years old. He not only does not stop starring in the most box-office pictures, but also does it, showing the audience still relief body. For a long career, the actor has really done a lot of work on his lifestyle and bad habits. We tell you what allows Brad Pitt to stay in great shape, despite his age.

Refusal of bad habits

We must admit, the Hollywood star has not always boasted a negative or at least neutral attitude to cigarettes and alcohol. But unlike his peer, he thought about giving up one of the bad habits – the craving for nicotine – before playing in the movie “Troy”, which was released in 2004. During the filming period, smoking prevented Pitt to gain muscle mass needed for the role of Achilles, so had to quit for a while. However, Brad finally discarded cigarettes not so long ago. Married to Angelina Jolie in 2014, he fundamentally got rid of the bad habit so as not to set a bad example for their future children.

Unfortunately, Brad’s struggle with alcohol stretched much longer. The actor himself admitted that he did not know the measure and drank too much even during family life. Only after parting with his wife, Pitt seriously thought about the addiction. The actor for a year and a half attended AA classes and eventually quit drinking.

I achieved the maximum possible result for myself. There were other people sitting next to me at the classes. They spoke openly and honestly what I had never heard before. It was a completely safe place where we weren’t judged by others and where we weren’t judging ourselves,” Pitt recalls of his time struggling with alcohol addiction.

Diverse workouts at the gym

Of course, quitting bad habits makes us many times healthier, but you need to work on the relief body purposefully. In an interview before the September premiere of the movie “To the Stars” Brad said that he regularly spends four days a week in the gym and does not give himself indulgences. After all, by nature, the actor is prone to thinness.

For the first time to work on his own body Pitt began in 1991, before filming in the movie “Thelma and Louise”. Skinny by nature, the guy needed to gain muscle mass and work the abs. But after the release of the picture in the rental of transformations did not end.

In 1998 began filming “Fight Club” – a movie that brought Brad incredible popularity. In it there is a scene in which his hero named Tyler Durden exposes his torso before the fight with his alter ego. The actor at that time remained quite thin, but his body gained relief and mobility. Pitt later shared with the public a specially designed training plan. It consisted of four days of strength training for a specific muscle group and two days of cardio training each week.

Brad Pitt’s strength training included exercises:

Monday
Chest exercises:

  • Floor push-ups;
  • barbell bench press;
  • incline barbell press;
  • barbell bench press in incline;
  • arm curl in the trainer.

Tuesday
Back exercises:

  • pull-ups;
  • T-bar pull;
  • pulling block to the waist while sitting;
  • upper block pull.

Wednesday
Shoulder exercises:

  • sitting dumbbell press;
  • lifting dumbbells in front of you;
  • dumbbells apart.

Thursday
Arm exercises:

  • bending arms on the Scott bench;
  • lifting dumbbells with “hammer” grip;
  • triceps extensions on a training machine;
  • bending on the block with EZ bar.

All exercises the actor performed 15-25 times per approach: it was necessary not to build muscle, but to achieve relief of the body.

Later, before filming in the movie “Troy”, Pitt still had to work on the body mass and gain at least five kilograms of muscle. For the role of Achilles, he returned to the previous system of training, but changed the number of repetitions (they became 10-12) and added leg exercises:

  • squats/leg presses;
  • leg curls on the machine;
  • leg curls on the machine;
  • toe raises in sitting and standing positions.

Proper nutrition and diets for roles

Now Brad Pitt tries to stick to a proper diet: he does not abuse fast food, snacks, sweets and other high-calorie refined foods. He does this during the work week and gives himself indulgences on weekends. Nevertheless, for the sake of roles in the movies Pitt has repeatedly changed his diet and sat on strict diets.
