Maximum from nature: why add greens to your diet?

Maximum from nature: why add greens to your diet?

What are the benefits of greens?

One plus is obvious – you can eat a mountain and still not gain excess weight.

The summer season is rich in vitamins: sunshine vitamin D, plenty of vegetables and fruits at reduced prices on supermarket shelves. But to get the most out of nature, you should not forget about greens. It will not only add flavor to dishes, but also favorably affect the body. What are the benefits of greens and how to properly include it in the diet, tells nutriciologist Anna Garnova.

How useful are greens?

Greens are a pure source of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants. Among the important elements are also enzymes that help break down fats, proteins and carbohydrates. By adding greens to every meal, you help your digestive tract digest food faster and better. In addition, it contains useful fiber, which supports intestinal microflora and normalizes digestion.

Greens are good and low energy value for a relatively large serving size. You can eat a pack of greens, get the nutrients you need, get full and still not exceed your daily calorie intake. That’s why it’s good to add it for portion volume. For example, 40g of buckwheat and spinach is a pretty impressive portion of food.

Recent studies confirm that satiety depends, among other things, on how much food a person sees on the plate. This confirms the work published in the National Electronic Library of Health in the United States. Scientists have found that the human eye works in the mechanism of “visual cues”. For example, with the same portion of food served on a small and large plate, people are more likely to choose the smaller plate because the size seems larger that way.

What is the right way to incorporate greens into the diet?

To incorporate greens into your diet and make it varied, you can start by buying ready-made mixes at the store and adding a little bit to each meal. Don’t get hung up on any one thing, experiment, try things out and choose what tastes best. There is no specific portion of greens that must be eaten: eat as much as you like.

Greens are suitable for everyone, but people with GI disorders should listen carefully to the body. If there is bloating after fresh, you can stew it: so the product is easier to digest, although it loses part of the nutrients.
