Why do athletes prefer to change their training location sometimes?
A change of location will bring a lot of new things to your exercise routine.
Most likely, you have noticed that when you start working out in a new training program, you progress and achieve different results. Over time, things slow down and you find yourself at a plateau in your results (when you continue to train with the same program, in the same gym, and you can hardly see any progress).
If you continue “in the same way” – training monotonously and working out where you’ve been going for years – most likely your results won’t improve radically. Periodically, you should get out of your “comfort zone” – change trainers or places of training – and try new things. All this will contribute to the favorable development of your physical qualities.
Experts told us how changes in the training process affect it and what it will lead to.

Any change of location in the training process is a good thing. If we are talking about the banal – to run today in another park or to another stadium – it is a change of “picture” and coverage.
The first – positively affects the nervous system, unloads the brain a little, and adds new colors and impressions.
The second – will pump the stabilizer muscles well and bring variety. Be sure to swap asphalt for dirt if you can. In a perfect world – you should run on all surfaces that are available, but dose the hard ones (such as asphalt, concrete, tile).
When you work out in the same gym for a long time, your nervous system starts to relax. You get lazy to exercise and put off today’s workout until the day after tomorrow.
Forcing yourself to exercise is a bad way to develop. Sports should be enjoyed and exercise should not be uncomfortable. Interest in training should always be maintained.

As far as yoga practice is concerned, changing the place of practice, i.e. studios, is very appropriate at the beginning of the path. In this way a beginner can better understand the different directions, which style of practice is more responsive to him, more suited to his temperament and body, as well as find his teacher.
Personally, I almost always practice on my own and wherever I am, whether at home or traveling. Once did a practice in an airport. I enjoy visiting different studios, always excited to learn new things from awesome teachers.
In addition to your favorite place to practice, it is necessary to change the training process. This is necessary for versatile and harmonious development of the body. You should always have the opportunity to use different exercises and modes of loading during training.
What should be changed in the training program sometimes?
- Exercises. You can leave the basic movements and dilute them with auxiliary new ones that you have not yet encountered;
- Number of approaches and repetitions;
- Location of workouts. You can break down the days of the week when you will train in the gym and outdoors and periodically change days ;
- Order of exercises. For example, you started each workout with exercises for your leg muscles, but now try with exercises for your arms or back.
If over the course of your workout you have developed a program that you really love, you don’t have to give it up forever. Try changing your workouts temporarily and then return to your favorite exercises.
