6 hot springs in Russia. Where to warm up and improve your health?

The colder it gets outside, the more you crave warmth. But even in the winter months, there are many ways to keep warm without plaid and heaters. For example, at thermal springs. Just imagine: a dip in hot water when snowdrifts are lying around is a special pleasure. We have chosen six places where you can bathe in winter, and since it is still difficult to get abroad, we decided to stop at our resorts.

Macesta, Sochi

Perhaps the most famous therapeutic resort in the Sochi area. The name, according to scientists, translates from Adygo-Abkhazian languages as “fire water”. This fully reflects its temperature, which reaches +46 degrees. However, according to another version “Matsesta” means “valley of odors”, which is also not without reason, as this water is extremely saturated with hydrogen sulfide. Bathing in the springs restores the cardiovascular and nervous systems, musculoskeletal apparatus and treats a variety of skin and gynecological diseases.

Aquarelle, Turinsk

The hot spring is located 12 km from the city in the health center “Aquarelle”. Behind it lies an interesting story: in 1956, when an oil well was drilled in this place, a spring was accidentally discovered. The water has therapeutic properties, as it contains iron, sodium, chlorine, iodine and bromine. All this promotes health and increases immunity. The temperature of the water is about +38 degrees.

Khvalynskie Thermae, Saratov region

Julia: I would like to say separately about the resort called “Khvalynskie Thermae”, located in the north of the Saratov region. Its history is only about 15 years, but this place has already managed to win well-deserved popularity among fans of active winter recreation. It combines all opportunities for skiing and snowboarding and subsequent relaxation in outdoor pools with natural thermal water (temperature about 30-35 degrees Celsius). It has a beneficial effect on the respiratory and cardiovascular systems.

“Baden-Baden”, Kurgan region

The thermal complex is located 17 kilometers from Kurgan. Mineral water here is rich in sodium and potassium, it is useful for the treatment of respiratory tract diseases, cardiovascular diseases. In winter its temperature reaches 40 degrees. On the territory of the resort there is also an outdoor swimming pool, bath and sauna.

“Shameless baths”, Pyatigorsk

These baths relieve fatigue, help fight excess weight, and restore the work of the central nervous system. The resort with blue water is located near Lake Proval. There is a lot of hydrogen sulfide and salts in the waters, as the springs come from the Mashuk Mountain. The higher the baths, the warmer it is. The water there is +30-40 degrees. And also from there there is an impressive view of the city.

“Sosnovy Bor”, Tyumen

Hot thermal springs are also in Siberia. In particular, they are ubiquitous in the Tyumen region and enjoy increased popularity in winter. And it is not surprising – just imagine taking a hot bath (about +36-40 degrees) on a dark frosty night, with a starry sky overhead and snowflakes all around. One of such tourist complexes is Sosnovy Bor, which is located near the city. The springs here are surrounded by coniferous forest and are saturated with bromine, calcium, magnesium, chlorine. It is very useful in treating diseases of the nervous and cardiovascular systems.

Bathing in winter in thermal waters will not only be an interesting experience, but also an excellent preventive measure for your health. Don’t miss the chance and definitely try to go to at least one of these springs during your upcoming vacations.
