What do the most stylish sports trophy cases look like?

“Victory travels with Louis Vuitton” is the slogan on the French brand’s main website. Since 2010, the company has traditionally designed cases to accompany the most important sports trophies. We tell you about the most striking works created for sports tournaments.

World Cup trophies

Louis Vuitton designed cases for the 2010, 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cup trophies. They were created to protect and transport the cups, which consist of more than six kilograms of 18-karat gold and malachite.

The 2010 and 2014 versions had a classic style: top quality leather with embossed signature pattern. “Russian” version of 2018 is significantly different: the trophy travels no longer in leather, but in titanium with a laser-engraved monogram.

Roland Garros awards – 2017 and 2018

The champions of the Roland Garros tournament in women’s and men’s singles won the prestigious Suzanne Lenglen Trophy and the Musketeers Cup. The trophies were presented in two cases designed by the French brand and reflecting the symbolism of the tournament.

The inside of the cases is terracotta colored and resembles the clay surface on which all the games are played.

Collaboration between Louis Vuitton and the NBA

Louis Vuitton became a global partner of the National Basketball League and the first official supplier of trophy chests.

The case is covered in the iconic Monogram pattern and features traditional brass fastenings and is decorated with the iconic letter V in white with blue and red details. The interior is in the official NBA color, navy blue, which is used to present Larry O’Brien’s championship trophy.

Rugby World Cup 2023

The 2023 Rugby World Cup, the final of which will be held in France, will welcome the coveted Webb Ellis trophy in a travel case from the French fashion house. It has been handcrafted by skilled artisans in the ancient workshops of Agnières in the suburbs of Paris.

On the outside, the case is covered in the iconic Monogram canvas and decorated with the letter V in the tournament’s colors – blue, white and red – and the Roman numerals XV, representing the number of players on the rugby union team.

Louis Vuitton’s first cyber sports case

The desire for innovation that characterizes Louis Vuitton products has naturally propelled the brand into the fast-paced world. In 2019, the fashion house presented a trophy case for the League of Legends World Championship.

The unique case combines traditional craftsmanship with ultra-modern high-tech elements. It is inspired by the world of League of Legends and consists of five ultra-powerful LEDs.

“Home” for the Davis Cup trophy

It fits on the cup’s easily recognizable huge pedestal and can be opened from either the top or both sides, turning any public appearance of the trophy into a display.

The exclusive case is covered in the iconic Monogram canvas and adorned with rich leather details, palladium and brass locks, and the Davis Cup logo printed inside the lining.
