Why did everyone start sharing revelations on social media and is it worth it?

Scrolling through our social media feeds has become as commonplace for us as brushing our teeth or going to the store to buy bread. In the online space we get news, learn interesting facts and follow the personal lives of famous (and not so famous) people. Do you agree that sometimes peeking at other people’s fates replaces watching a TV series?

Now imagine how difficult it is for those who produce this content on a regular basis. Bloggers, like any media personality, need to be on the crest of the wave and give subscribers what they want to see. In this case, real life and authentic experiences. In general, our feelings sometimes start to be played with. And this is where the main problem is to understand where the lies are, and where the genuine need for participation.

Before the age of the Internet, people used to talk, share their fears, problems and anxieties with loved ones: friends, relatives, parents. Now everything has changed – now people write posts about their worries. Social networks have literally become an outlet for many people – an alternative to live communication. Is it right?

The new trend is good for mental health, because it frees you from the aggravating weight of negativity. It is not worth saving up worries and holding back tears inside yourself, because it is a time bomb. It is better to speak out, to share, to find if not a solution to your problem, then at least sympathy.

A few years ago, such behavior would have caused outrage among others, but not now. Many public figures and actors have long published on their pages photos and monologues with frank experiences. This has become the norm, as well as the expression of positive emotions. A person can not stay only in a good mood all the time. Worries, anxieties, and difficulties are part and parcel of life.

Is it real?

There are cases when bloggers are accused of bluffing. Say, crying on camera, begging for likes, increasing views. Such behavior has been called “sedfishing”. Public figures catch their audience on sadness (“sad” – sad and “fishing” – to fish). They hook naive people on the hook of empathy in order to get increased coverage of publications and, accordingly, more advertising money.

Alas, it is difficult to accurately determine whether a blogger uses such techniques. No one can truly know what a person is feeling at the moment. Of course, more trust is aroused by non-public people. Here there is a chance that a person really needs sympathy.

What’s in it for you?

When it comes to increasing reach, of course these things work. It’s much more interesting to follow the life of a real person. When a blogger only shows a perfect picture, doubt creeps in about their sincerity. People realize that things can’t always be that smooth for a person.

If you have a decent sized audience, writing a revelation post will be a good decision. People will get to know you better, realize that you are “closer to the people”. And of course, you will get emotional support. Let someone will not accept this whining, but most will take it with understanding.

You should not be afraid of judgment, just share your worries, ask for advice or any other help. Seeing your photos and reading a frank story, people will believe, try to understand.

You will get moral support from others, and someone will help you. Many are accustomed to carry the burden of experience alone, although there are always those around who are ready to lend a hand. Allow yourself to be weak sometimes. It is normal.

If you are in a difficult situation, it is very important to respond to it correctly and in a timely manner. Otherwise, your health may sprinkle. HERE are collected instructions of a psychologist for all cases of life.
