As a professional fighter and an athlete with a long career, I love to train on weekends. The weekend provides a great opportunity to get comfortable training. We tend not to be in a rush to get anywhere and can fully commit to the activity and pay a lot of attention to our bodies.

Those who work hard during the week dream of lying down and relaxing on the weekend. But this way of life kills energy, deprives of strength and the desire to organize leisure time. Sport on the weekend will give a charge of vigor. You will be easier to cope with the physical load and fatigue on weekdays, and also increase efficiency.

I have been training every day for the past few years. And when I was in the Russian national judo team, I trained two or three times a day, depending on the cycle of preparation for competitions. But not all athletes go into professional sports headfirst, and many are just starting to get into the training process.

As a respected UK scientific publication points out, even one workout a week can reduce the risk of heart disease or stroke. If possible, it’s best to exercise more often. After all, when we’re in motion, we feel better not only physically, but also psychologically.

What are the benefits of working out on the weekend?

Now it is becoming fashionable to train on Saturday and Sunday. In this approach to training it is important not to skip them, but to make them part of the entertainment program for the weekend.

Many people have long been accustomed to this schedule, because it helps to start a productive vacation, so as not to lie on the couch all day.

Sports clubs are now offering weekend fitness to their visitors. This is very convenient, since there is not always time and desire after a hard work to go to training. And sports on weekends gives you the opportunity to diversify your vacation and improve your health. First of all, it is an economy. You will not lose money if you can not visit the gym during the week. And the cost of such a subscription is lower than the standard one.

Another advantage – you will reduce the risk of overeating on Saturday and Sunday. Moderate exercise not only helps to get your body in good shape, but also improves your health.

What is the right way to exercise on the weekend?

It is best to devote Saturday to upper body workouts, and Sunday to lower body workouts. Training should be supplemented with cardio exercises to burn fat and strength training to work the muscles. Then you can maximize the benefits of weekend workouts.

It’s important not to overload yourself and not to exhaust your body. Build up your training pace gradually. Mindless fanaticism in sports does not lead to anything good. Especially if your physical fitness leaves much to be desired.

I believe that it is better to do something than nothing. And that goes for sports and healthy living first and foremost! If you really don’t have the opportunity to fully exercise on weekdays, then weekend workouts will definitely be your salvation.
