An instructor is like a psychologist who understands the inner states of those who come to train and improve their fitness. I always try to treat all my clients positively and build a trusting relationship. It is important that the workout is enjoyable and brings results. Despite the specificity of characters, none of the categories of visitors scares me. You can find your own approach to everyone.

For myself, I have identified the following categories of visitors, which stand out from the rest.

1. “Soul of the company.”

This person has been going to training for a long time. He knows everyone: from the administrator to the head of the studio. Most often visits a fitness club not for the sake of training, but for socializing. Usually spends a lot of time in the gym.

The instructor is easy with him. Such a client is always very happy when they come up to him and give him some tips on exercises. I would call this type of visitors sociable extroverts.

2. “Smartass.”

These people think they know absolutely everything about sports (even more than the trainer). As a rule, they visit a fitness club for quite a long time. A distinctive feature of behavior – aggressively perceives any cues. Alas, they often perform exercises incorrectly, but they ignore advice. It is typical for them to walk around the hall and hand out “instructions” to other visitors. These tips are usually of dubious value.

3. “Narcissist.”

Let’s add to this the definitions of “pickup artist”, “handsome”, “macho”. He comes to the fitness room to show off, to get acquainted. Distinguished by impeccable style in sportswear, uses perfumes. Will not miss a single mirror to admire his reflection.

Such a person can attract attention to himself by some sounds when doing exercises on the gym: growls, breathes loudly. To establish relationships with the “narcissist” is not difficult. 4. “Half-assed.”

This type of person only pumps one thing. For example, the upper body or a particular muscle group: shoulders, biceps, pecs. They have their own goals that are clear only to them, and they pursue them. Most often such male clients do not train leg muscles. They emphasize only the upper part of the body. Girls, on the contrary, pay more attention to the bottom.

5. “Workaholic.”

Such a person comes to the fitness club with one goal – to fulfill the training. He has a clear plan, perhaps even keeps a training diary. He is focused, concentrated, motivated, energized for the result and is not distracted by empty conversations. He is all in himself, most often wearing headphones. Tips coach listens attentively and tries to fulfill them perfectly. Such visitors achieve positive results faster than others.

6. “Beginner”

It is easy to recognize him against the background of the others – he is frightened when he gets into the hall. He tries to be inconspicuous, shy. He takes the first available free exercise machine, not understanding what it is for and why. It is important that such a person quickly finds his instructor. He will change immediately.
