How to bake fitness bread at home?

Sometimes giving up bread is the hardest thing to do. But it is not necessary to exclude it at all.

An indispensable condition of many diets – the refusal of flour. Adherents of good nutrition, as a rule, give up bread, but not everyone is easy. And some people eat without flour and seems incomplete. It’s all about taste habits, which were formed in childhood.

If you give up bread with difficulty, you can replace it with a healthy alternative, fitness bread. You can prepare it at home: it is not difficult, but tasty and useful.

How does fitness bread differ from ordinary bread?

Fitness bread boasts a relatively low calorie content – 170 kcal/100 g. By comparison, ordinary white bread has a much higher calorie content – 265 kcal/100 g.

Another advantage: fitness bread contains no yeast, and the sugar content is three times less than in regular bread, but more fiber. And one more important plus is a long shelf life: due to the absence of preservatives and thanks to the pasteurization process, fitness bread can be stored for six months without spoiling.

What does fitness bread taste like?

There is an expression: everything that is healthy is unpalatable, and everything that tastes good is unhealthy. But these words are not suitable for fitness bread. It is a tasty product, even if it is different from the usual.

Fitness bread is not crispy, there is no softness and “tenderness” inherent in classic baked goods. On the contrary, it has a rather dense consistency, and in the flavor you can feel almond notes, which are not present in the usual loaf.

You will need:

buckwheat flour – 2 tablespoons;
wheat bran – 100-150 g;
ground almonds – 100 g;
flax seeds – 100 g;
leavening agent – 15 g;
salt (preferably sea salt) – 1 tsp;
egg whites – 5 pcs;
yogurt – 300 g;

First of all, you need to preheat the oven to 180-200°C. In a container, mix buckwheat flour, wheat bran, ground almonds, flax seeds, salt and leavening agent. Add egg whites (don’t forget to separate them from the yolks!) and yogurt to the resulting dry mixture. Beat the mass for 2-3 minutes until it turns into a homogeneous dough consistency.

Place parchment paper on the surface of a baking dish. Place the dough in the mold, and decorate the top with sunflower seeds. After that, bake for 50-60 minutes. Done!
