Some would say, “Footballers have only soccer in their heads.” Hector Bellerin, who has been playing for Spanish side Betis since this year, would strongly disagree.

Bellerin is a regular guest of fashion weeks, where he is constantly caught in the camera lenses, his unusual style attracts people’s eyes. Spanish footballer perfectly able to combine in his images at first glance completely incongruous things.

Even the famous American designer Virgil Abloh noted Hector’s taste in clothes, and as a result, the footballer was on the podium during the SS20 show of Louis Vuitton fashion house, which can boast not every model.

His own collection with a major brand

The Spaniard is well versed in fashion trends, in 2018 he was already recognized by Highsnobiety as the most stylish footballer in the world, and H&M released a joint collection with him.

The Edition by Héctor Bellerín capsule includes basic menswear pieces that are made entirely of sustainable materials. Company representatives say that the footballer was involved in all stages of the collection’s creation.

Change of style and love for vintage

In today’s fashion world, it is crucial to be able to change with your clothing preferences in order to stay on trend. In February this year, Hector shared his thoughts on his style and his desire to be as eco-friendly as possible.

My style has changed radically recently. It’s become more mature, I’m more comfort-oriented. I’ve practically stopped buying new clothes. I buy vintage or things that will last me forever. I didn’t know how recycling worked before, but now I understand what can be done with old things.

Bellerin stated that he is sometimes ashamed to look at himself in old photos, “I was young and wanted to try everything, I had no brakes”. Hector stopped dressing so extravagantly, his images became dominated by vintage things, and he himself declared himself an opponent of pollution of nature and therefore, according to him, learned to give old things a second life.

Bellerin stopped buying new leather clothes altogether. “My motto is to use what you already have.”

The Spaniard also revealed a few of his secrets: his favorite thing in his closet is a Craig Green jacket, the most stylish guys in the world are Chandler Bing, A$AP Rocky and Kanye West, and the most fashionable footballer is Tiemoue Bakayoko.

However, Bellerin doesn’t forget about soccer either. This year he moved to Betis, playing in the Spanish La Liga, where he plans to get the desired game practice, which he so lacked while playing for Arsenal in London.
