Is it necessary to eat soup? Are first courses so useful?

Soup is a rather abstract concept. It is any liquid food that has a broth and guts. It can be vegetable or meat. It can be warm (solyanka) or cold (okroshka). And each can be both useful and harmful.

By the way, about what happens if you eat only soup every day, told in the article at the link.

If you do not eat soup – will your stomach hurt?

When as children our parents told us: “Eat soup, or you’ll get a stomachache” – they were rather following the tradition that they inherited from their parents. There is no proven influence or non-influence of soups on the formation of gastrointestinal diseases. Causality does not work in this bundle.

Accordingly, soup is not a cure for all ills, and certainly not the prevention of disease. Especially when we are talking about such first courses as kharcho, lagman, solyanka, shurpa. Fatty and spicy soups are not suitable for everyone, they can complicate digestion, although they contain a lot of benefits if cooked correctly.

Such spicy soups contain useful amino acids, antioxidants (if the appropriate spices are added). And if the broth is cooked on quality fresh meat, we get the necessary fats and proteins. But you can use them, unfortunately, not everyone. This is an individual question.

There are also cold soups, for example, okroshka, loved by many. In fact, this dish is controversial, because it has many recipes. It all depends on what you put as a meat ingredient, use kvass or mineral water, whether you fry potatoes, add radishes. The benefits will vary from recipe to recipe.

The recipe for a healthy okroshka is shared in the article at the link.

What soups are considered the most useful

We can talk about the benefits of vegetable soups, which contain a lot of fiber. But they may not be suitable for people with excessive bacterial or fungal growth syndrome, as well as with irritable bowel or ulcerative colitis. If you’re adding cooked carrots or beets, make sure your blood sugar levels are normal first.

Summarizing all of the above, I want to say that soup is just a tradition, a delicious and nutritious dish, which depending on the recipe and ingredients can carry absolutely different benefits (or harm). To cure or prevent the development of GI diseases, soup is unlikely to be able to. And if you are used to eating the first dish exclusively hot, there is a great chance to damage the mucous membranes of the esophagus and stomach.

Soups can be eaten, the main thing is to understand which of them will suit your body. And it is a good option not only for lunch. Read more about it in the material at the link.
