For those who don’t have to go to school this year, September may seem like a month that symbolizes only the end of the hot summer days. So that the beginning of the fall season does not seem boring and devoid of activity, we have compiled a calendar of sporting events that are definitely worth participating in.

Absolute Moscow Marathon

When? September 22
Where? Moscow, Luzhniki Olympic Complex
Distances: 10 km / 42.2 km

The main running event of the country will start in 19 days. Within the framework of the Moscow Marathon you can not only test your strength, but also admire the picturesque views of the capital. The route of the race runs through the center of Moscow: from Luzhniki along the embankment of the Moskva River, along the Garden and Boulevard Rings, across the Crimean Bridge, along Tverskaya Street and Teatralny Proyezd, under the walls of the Kremlin.

A day before the main start, on September 21, young runners will be able to take part in the children’s distance of the Moscow Marathon. It will be held on the territory of the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center. Groups of participants up to 9 years old will cover distances of 400 meters, and groups from 10 to 13 years old – 800 meters.

Paid registration during the Sports Expo on September 20 or 21 and a medical certificate are required for participation.

Archery World Cup 2019 World Cup Finals

When. September 6-7.
Where: Luzhniki OC Prestigious Alley

The Moscow Cup Final will be the first archery event of such a global scale since the 1980 Olympic Games. Moscow will join Medellin, Shanghai, Antalya and Berlin on the list of host cities for this year’s World Cup Finals.

Competitions will be held among men and women in the categories of classical and block bow in individual and team championships. This year Russia will be represented in individual competitions by Artem Makhnenko, Ksenia Perova, Sayana Li, Anton Bulaev and Natalia Avdeeva. In team competitions – Erdem Irdyneev and Elena Osipova in classical bow, Pavel Krylov and Elizaveta Knyazeva – in block bow.

Gran Fondo Russia

When. September 15
Where? Serpukhov, “FINAM” airfield.
Distance: 30 km / 60 km / 90 km

Already this September the final of the largest in Russia series of bicycle races Gran Fondo Russia will take place. This time the race will be held in Serpukhov district, which is known for its clean ecology and protected areas. That’s why participation in the race combines both sports competitions and a bicycle ride on traffic-free roads. Each participant can ride a distance according to his or her level of fitness: 30, 60 or 90 kilometers. It is also possible to choose the format of a 90-kilometer cycling race for the most resistant and experienced.

To participate, you need a paid registration, a serviceable bike, a buckled helmet and a medical certificate.

IRONSTAR 226 Sochi 2019

Where? Sochi, Imeritinsky Hotel Complex
Distance: 226 km.

The largest triathlon competition will take place on October 12 in the Olympic city of Sochi. This competition is created for fans of the “iron” distance, who are ready to overcome 3.86 km by swimming, 180 km by bicycle and 42.195 km by running. The format of the race provides for individual, team and paratriathlete participation. In addition to the large-scale competition and the opportunity to win the title of “iron” man, the participants will be waiting for the solemn closing of the triathlon season.

Registration and a set of mandatory documents are required for participation.

When. September 28-29
Where? Moscow, landscape park “Mitino”.
Distance: not less than 7 km / not less than 10 km

The most massive race with breathtaking obstacles, which will allow you to test the capabilities of your body. By joining the “Reebok. Become Human” you will be able to spend the weekend in a circle of like-minded people. To become a participant of the race, you just need to gather a team of 6 people (or join it) and choose a distance: “Standard” or “Elite”. And, of course, be ready to show the maximum of your strength.

Pulse of Kindness

When? September 7
Where? Kolomna, skating center Kolomna
Distance: 21.1 km / relay 2×10.550 km

Charity run “Pulse of Kindness” will take place already this Saturday in Kolomna near Moscow along the tourist route “Golden Ring of Russia”. By participating in the event, you contribute to the development of sports and healthy lifestyle, as well as help orphans and those left without parental care, together with the Istok Charitable Foundation.
Today you can choose the two remaining distances: half marathon and two-person relay. Get in before we run out of spots!

Distance: 5 km / 10 km / 21.1 km / 42.2 km

An unusual digital event “Let’s Run Together” will start next week. Within the framework of the virtual track and field race each participant will be able to choose a distance according to his/her strength and, most importantly, any convenient place and time to overcome it.
All funds raised will be used to fund research and development of new methods and means of cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
