Untold stories about sports will be featured in a new Netflix series
The main characters are participants of these events.
Not so long ago, the American streaming platform Netflix told about the release of a new series “Untold”. It consists of documentaries about sports. You will say, and what is so unique? Answer. The films will tell the world stories of sports, about which little is known to the general public. Not the most beautiful, racy moments, but they happened. Each movie has its own release date on the platform.
And now let’s talk a little more about each one, but first – the trailer.
The main idea of the series
The series consists of episodes, where each one is made as a separate movie. The narration, regardless of the story, will begin with the climax, the most important moment of what happened. After that, everything that was left behind the scenes and what was not written about in the newspapers will be shown. The main storytellers are the participants of these events, those who had to live through it.
You’ll learn what kind of scuffle happened during the Pacers-Pistons basketball game, or hear Olympic medalist Caitlyn Jenner (then William Bruce Jenner) reflect on her path to gold. Boxing athlete Christy Martin will talk about her struggle to live by her own rules outside the ring, and tennis player Mardy Fish will tell the story of his psychological problems that plagued him on and off the court. In another, the hockey players of the Thrashers will be shown taking orders from the son of an alleged mob boss.
The series will help you get to the heart of each of the stories to understand the predilections and state of athletes during the victories and outside the sports fields.
And that’s not all that’s worth paying attention to. Each story is directed by a different filmmaker, and only two of the first five documentaries were directed by Chapman Russell Way and McLain Way. You may remember them from another Netflix documentary, Wild Wild Country. They also had the role of executive producers on their shoulders for all of the films.
