Balloon Festival in Pereslavl-Zalessky – 2024: dates, prices and schedule

The colorful air show will take place from July 17 to 21.

This year the festival will please all fans not only of extreme sports, but also of aesthetics. For several years already the event in Pereslavl-Zalessky, which is organized by the Aeronautics Federation of Yaroslavl region, gives a head start to the famous holiday in Turkish Cappadocia. And this year the 23rd aeronautics festival “Golden Ring of Russia” will take place. The event will be held from July 17 to 21.

Incredible show of colorful flights gathers about 20 thermal balloons, there are tethered lifts every evening (that is, you can soar to the ground without getting off it – it is suitable for beginners and children), and you can also make bright photos at the general starts. And just admire the scale of the grandiose festive show, when two dozens of bright balloons of different colors and sizes soar into the sky!

How will the festival take place?

A day before the flight, the organizers will make a final decision whether the balloon flights will take place. If the weather conditions prove to be contrary and dangerous for the sky rises, they will be postponed to another date.

The event will open on July 17 at 18:00 with a pre-flight briefing for pilots and passengers, where all questions about the flight, safety and conditions can be asked. The decision whether the flights will take place depends on the weather conditions – it is a certain wind speed, flights should take place in wind less than 5 meters per second, as well as in the absence of precipitation. Then there will be a departure to the place, the evening balloon flight itself and an air journey over the ancient Russian city.

From 20:00 till 22:00 the territory of the hotel “Azimut Hotel Pereslavl” will be waiting for the guests. Here will be held tethered ascents on a thermal balloon.

On the next day, July 18, there will be a publication of the place of the general take-off in the Telegram-channel of the Yaroslavl Region Ballooning Federation. After the gathering – morning flight of balloons over Pereslavl and the whole region. And in the evening, starting from 18:00, the festive program will begin. Live music and DJ will play for the guests, and children’s animation will be an entertainment for the youngest ones. Please note that the entrance is paid.

On Saturday, July 20, a huge holiday program with animation, laser tag (by the way, these entertainments are free for children), disco is waiting for guests. At 21:30 there will be a show of night glow of balloons.

To look at the general start of balloons can be free of charge. Entrance to the territory of the hotel is paid:

• July 17 – entrance is free;
• July 18 – adults – 300 rubles, children – 200 rubles;
• July 19 – adults – 800 rubles, children – 500 rubles;
• July 20 – adults – 1500 rubles, children – 1000 rubles;
• July 21 – admission is free.

How much do flights cost?

Group flight: adult ticket – 10 000 rubles, children (from 7 to 14 years) – 8000 rubles.

Individual flight: here the price depends on the number of people in your company. A flight for one or two people will cost 35,000 rubles, three people – 40,000, four – 45,000.

Tethered lifts are ideal for kids from five years old. The balloon is tied with cables to a support on the ground and rises to a small height for a couple of minutes. If you doubt yourself and are afraid to go on a fascinating air journey over the ancient Russian city, start small.
