That’s where all snowboarders, skiers and active sports enthusiasts gathered for 10 days to finish the season, perfect new tricks, have a rest and most importantly – to plunge into this unreal cool atmosphere again!
Portālscamp participants are the main component of thecamp. It’s amazing how many acquaintances from absolutely different spheres of life you can meet here. It seems that everyone who has the slightest relation to action sports came to the joint annual corporate party.
In order to convey the reigning atmosphere at the festival, which can energize everyone for a year ahead, until the next Quiksilver New Star Camp, we asked our friends and festival participants to tell us how they spend their time here and what interesting things are happening this year.

There are so many of my friends here that the only thing I do is endlessly say: “Oh, hello! Oh, hello!”. I shake everybody’s hand and say, “How are you?” And the worst part is that some people you don’t even remember their names, and they’re all wearing glasses, and you don’t recognize anyone. And you think: what to say? Well, I’ve gotten used to it and I say to everyone: “Hi! I’m doing great. How are you? It’s been ages!” And now there’s a girl with a snowboard and… in a swimsuit! Did you see that? She went down in a bathing suit! Good for her, because everyone’s wearing those horrible, wide, shapeless clothes.

NewStar for me is the end of the season, new tricks and meeting friends. The brightest impression for me is today’s cab under dable flip by Yari (son). And in general, there are vivid impressions from everything – friends, riding and beautiful weather.

I get up at 9-10 am. At 11 I’m already on the mountain. But I usually go to bed at 23:00, but when there is a party, it’s at 4:00. I always have the strength to get up early at Quiksilver New Star Camp, because the desire to ride in the park is above all!

Quiksilver New Star Camp is sport, recreation and freedom. A place where you can develop your abilities and where you do what you like. I get up very early, at 9am, and climb the mountain at 10-11am. I go to bed at 24-1 at night. I like to sleep in, but it’s so cool here that it makes me want to wake up and run up the mountain. I mean, that’s what I came here for. How can you stay in bed and not see anything? Not have time to make new acquaintances, not have time to talk to interesting people?

This year Quiksilver New Star Camp is held at a different resort. The park is located lower in altitude, which is a plus, the weather is better here… I also liked the bigair this year – it’s the biggest jump I’ve ever jumped off! It’s awesome!

I’ve been living in Sochi since last May, skating and enjoying the skating rink. I wake up at the campsite at 7 am, at 9 am I’m already in the park. When I’m not partying, I go to bed at 23:00. When I’m hanging out, I don’t go to bed at all. How do I get up in the morning? Gather my strength, pack everything I got. Warm up, lots of water, and most importantly, a good mood.

It’s the first time I’ve been to such an event. And for me the camp itself is different from anything I’ve been to before. Everything surprises and inspires me. I want to write about it, talk about it a lot and photograph every snowflake here. Before, I didn’t perceive winter sports at all, it was something foreign to me. I thought: “Oh, what snowboards! I’d rather go to Thailand! But now I have just completely changed my mind about it!”

I haven’t been to the camps for the last few years, because I always leave for Asia in the spring. Before that I was a regular participant. Not used to having wildly clogged feet, I go down to the chill-out area and sit/walk around barefoot. It’s the best place on the camp at all – sun, mountains and sea below.

The brightest impression from the festival is the party that took place two days ago, where LADYWAKS&STEPPASTYLE played. There was such sunny music, one of my favorites – ragga-jungle and jungle. I just danced like an eagle for an hour and a half! I guess it’s some kind of a return to my roots, my love of music. I was also pleasantly surprised by the number of new people. For some reason I saw a lot of new guys this year and met a couple of very interesting characters here. And, as it seems to me, I found some good comrades with whom I will be happy to continue communicating in Moscow. And it’s quite rare for me that I get to know some people with whom I would like to be friends in the future.

The team that makes QuiksilverNewStarCamp progresses every year. It is with great joy and pleasure that I watch them work. They’re expanding: more and more people are coming, they’re bringing in more cool artists, they’re choosing a cooler location. The camp is different because it’s bigger, it’s cooler, we have longer trails, the chillout is wider. And of course, you want to match this event and be here.
