What foods will help prevent puffiness and get rid of existing ones?

The best remedies for edema are a nutritious diet, healthy sleep and prevention. Regarding prevention, I will give a few recommendations:

  • engage in regular physical activity (running, walking, swimming, fitness or gym);
  • sleep at least 7-8 hours a day;
  • choose a quality pillow and mattress for sleeping;
  • limit the amount of salt in food and products;
  • add to the diet products that help reduce and prevent edema.

We will dwell on the last point in more detail.

Oranges

Vitamin C and rutin strengthen vascular walls and reduce their permeability, thereby preventing the development of edema.

Raspberries

Due to the content of salicylic acid, the berry has a diaphoretic effect, reduces swelling, reduces inflammation.

Green tea

Tea tannins strengthen the walls of blood vessels, promote the elimination of toxins, especially heavy metals. Green tea theobromine has a diuretic effect, which also helps to relieve swelling.

Seaweed

A rich source of vitamins and minerals, especially iodine, which is necessary for the proper functioning of thyroid hormones. These, in turn, support the metabolism of hyaluronic acid and relieve swelling.

Cranberries

The berry contains B vitamins, vitamin C, potassium, as well as organic acids: benzoic, malic, oxalic. Cranberries provide a mild diuretic effect, alkalizes the body, taking away the accompanying inflammation.

Broccoli

Cabbage contains indole-3-carbinol, which normalizes the balance of the hormone estrogen and reduces swelling associated with its imbalance.

Lettuce

A source of calcium O-glucarate, which binds excess estrogen and removes it from the body. Which also reduces swelling.

Some foods help to get rid of puffiness, while others, on the contrary, provoke their appearance. About the latter told in the article at the link.
