On December 10, VDNKh hosted a lecture from Varya Vedeneeva, the creator of the 365done project, where she shared the basic rules of tracking, which help to better organize your day and prioritize tasks. Sharing the best tips and useful resources.
How a piece of paper on the fridge changes everything
Varya Vedeneeva, founder of the 365done project: “A piece of paper on the fridge with the main task of the day or a reminder is much more effective than a notification on your phone. You come across it more than once in one morning, so you don’t let your brain forget about the upcoming task.”
Microtracking – small steps to big results
“You can’t dramatically change your life from Monday. Overcoming yourself by force is not the best start for developing new habits. Start with small steps – understand how habits affect your life and note what you’d like to change. Develop the skill of noticing the connection between actions and consequences. And stop blaming yourself. If we do something, it’s important to us. If you are late, doing something else is more important to you than being on time. It’s microtracking that helps us gradually figure out how to change our habits.”
One of Varya’s cardinal rules is that regular is better than intensive.
Where to start tracking?
“If you don’t know where to start, there are a few optimal options:
● bad habits – analyze what is the “trigger” for a cigarette, donut or skipping a workout;
● mood swings – at what moments do you feel irritable, depressed, etc..;
● budget – how much money you spend and on what, which purchases were planned and which were sudden;
● nutrition – see how you feel after a meal, how much water you drink during the day;
● your daily routine – what time you get up and go to bed, how you feel.
Start “tracking” only the areas that you prioritize; you don’t need to tackle everything. Set a time frame for tracking and see what changes have occurred after a week/30 days/100 days/year. Be sure to record how you feel and observe yourself and your habits.”
Each morning, identify only the 3 most important goals for the day – no more, no less.

Varya Vedeneeva: “For me, the release of this diary is a crossed off point in the list of my life goals, and I am very grateful to everyone who helped me to make it real. And I really want this diary to help someone to cross off life goals too.”
