Empire of Kyosem”, where he played the role of a Janissary. All the actors were taken to a special training camp in the forest near the village of Bakdemirler. For a whole week, the future guards of the sultan lived in the open air in huts, chopped wood, cooked food on the fire, learned the technique of sword wielding and horseback riding. Such training was an excellent test of strength and endurance. And Mert successfully passed it.
The actor himself admits that he loves to eat delicious food, but excesses rarely allows himself. After all, the Turkish cuisine is rich in sweets and fatty foods. I train twice a day. Boxing in the morning and full body training in the afternoon. Both sessions last about an hour and a half to two hours. Sometimes I box in the mornings and run in the evenings. Pilates has also become part of my daily routine, which I think is very important. I try to train at this pace five days a week. Then there’s physiotherapy and massage.
