Ex-bodybuilder Kirill Dubkov now lives in the middle of nowhere.

Something made the athlete trade all his opportunities and prospects for a life in the middle of nowhere.

Have you ever wanted to give up everything and start a new life? Such thoughts often visit during depression or a series of failures on the way to a cherished dream. And sometimes people part with the comfortable city bustle and go far away from civilization without regretting it at all. Kirill Dubkov, the USSR bodybuilding champion, chose such a path. We tell you how the athlete lives now, who decided to trade fame and a mountain of muscles for peace and quiet in the countryside.

Who is Kirill Dubkov?

Dubkov is the last USSR bodybuilding champion. Yes, this is the immodest title of the man who in the early 90’s conquered the pedestals of competitions with his physical form. Kirill Aleksandrovich confesses that his love for sports appeared to him quite spontaneously. It all started with a camera given to me for my birthday.

I photographed myself from the side and realized that I am athletic and athletic.

Dubkov’s competitive career lasted only three years: from 1989 to 1992. But despite his little experience in competitions, he managed to take the championship in 1991 in the category up to 80 kilograms. The championship was held in the fall, and in winter the Soviet Union collapsed. This is how Kirill Alexandrovich got the famous title.

Of course, the result was impressive. Joy and strength came, muscles began to grow, but the athlete felt “synthetic”. The body began to give alarm bells. As a result, the bodybuilder had to end his career in 1992, and he attended championships only as an observer.

Life in the countryside: what does the ex-bodybuilder do now?

After a quite successful career, the life of the “last champion” was going well. The man had his own sports business selling fitness equipment. Also for some time Kirill Alexandrovich held the position of Chairman of the Belarusian Federation of bodybuilding and fitness. But now Dubkov’s life has changed dramatically.

The former athlete decided to leave the city and plunge into an ordinary village life. It was a change of outlook, because the former views ceased to bring joy. The ex-bodybuilder took with him only a malamute puppy and a few bags with clothes. He left status, business and fame behind. Now the man resembles a real hermit, living outside the laws of civilization. The former bodybuilder devotes part of his farm life to working with wood.

This allows him to keep a decent shape for 50 years. It is worth noting that working with his hands has always brought Dubkov pleasure. While serving in the army, he made a gym for his coworkers by himself. Around the house Kirill Alexandrovich has a rich harvest, goat’s milk and eggs can be taken from neighbors across the river, bread is baked by his wife, and trees in the garden bear fruit. Moreover, “the last champion” is engaged in breeding of a rare breed of Alaskan malamutes.

Twists of fate that happened to Kirill Dubkov tell us that happiness for each person is defined differently. Some dream of a luxurious life in New York, while others dream of peace of mind and unity with nature.
