Jumping by itself will not get rid of chronic edema, but it can improve the condition.
What are lymphatic drainage jumps?
It is a kind of shake for the body. The technique is a small jumps with minimal jumping, which create a “rebound” effect on the heels – like running. The exercise like a pump “pumps” lymph, improves blood circulation and gets rid of fluid stagnation in the body. This improves skin color and makes it firmer. But about getting rid of swelling and cellulite all ambiguous, because there is no scientific evidence of the benefits of this practice. But the technique can still be taken into account as a good analog of warming up before training.
Technique of execution:
- Stand up straight, keep your back straight, feet slightly narrower than shoulder width.
- Rise on your toes, keep your heels about one centimeter off the surface.
- Then lower sharply, lightly striking the floor with your heels.
- Return to the starting position and repeat the exercise another 60-100 times, depending on your condition. You can break it into two approaches with a break of 10-15 seconds.
- It is desirable to perform the method without shoes, at a fast pace.
Are there any contraindications?
Olga: On the one hand, the exercise is safe in most cases, because it is performed in partial amplitude. On the other hand, the impact load is not for everyone, so it can be harmful for some health problems. For example, with osteoarthritis of the knee and hip joints, back pain associated with protrusion or hernia.
The same applies to those who have problems with internal organs: prolapse, diseases of the cardiovascular system (angina pectoris, thrombophlebitis). In these cases, it is better to exclude the practice. The exercise is also not recommended for pregnant women and those who have recently undergone surgery – at least in the first 3-6 months, or suffer from varicose veins.
Should I do this exercise?
To keep yourself in tone, it is important to take a comprehensive approach – to monitor the hormonal background, eat right, exercise, get enough sleep, take care of your skin and generally enjoy life. The method is suitable only as an additional activity during the day. It is especially important for office workers and people with sedentary lifestyles. Stand up, jump around, cheer up – and there is already a reason to be proud of yourself.
Olga: If you perform the exercise systematically, you will definitely get +1 to a good condition. In general, it is possible to perform the practice. But it is important to realize that this is not a tool that will get rid of health problems. Especially since the technique has many contraindications.
