What to take with you in the first aid kit to the countryside. Doctor’s advice

What medicines to take with you to the dacha?

If you are planning a trip to the village or to the dacha, it is necessary to take with you the most important and necessary, so that you can feel comfortable and confident in any situation.

First aid luggage

A first aid kit is one of the items you should pay special attention to, especially if you are traveling to a rural area.

  • Saline solution (safely can be used both to clean wounds and dilute medication), is suitable even for very young children and is often effective for poisoning.
  • Sterile gauze (useful for cleaning and drying wounds). It is gauze, not cotton swabs or disks. Cotton has a tendency to stick, and if the wound is lacerated or dirty, or if it is a bad burn, absorbent cotton may do more harm than help.
  • Bandages (like gauze, are essential for open wounds or burns and because of their length will always be a first aid, even if you need to dress a fracture or fix a sprain).
  • Chlorhexidine, miramistine (can be used both for washing wounds and for treating the oral cavity).
  • Hydrogen peroxide and iodine (to treat wounds and protect against bacterial infection).
  • Other antiseptics (you don’t want to sterilize everything around you, but minimally removing serious contaminants from your body, face, and hands is worthwhile).

Healing ointment

One of the most universal ointments that helps with the healing of small wounds is considered “Levomekol”. Its composition includes antimicrobial and wound-healing components, and it can be used even for children from a year old.

Ointment for burns

With burns, both solar and household burns will perfectly help cream-foam or ointment based on vitamin B5 – “Panthenol or “D-panthenol”. The drug relieves pain and does not cause allergies, as it is made on the basis of vitamin – suitable for everyone, even children.

Thermometer and tonometer

No one is immune from a rise in temperature or meteosensitivity. It’s better to have these quick diagnostic tools on hand and take action or medication if necessary. If you are prone to high blood pressure, you should remember to put the appropriate medications in your medicine cabinet.

Antipyretic

Speaking of fever – medications such as Ibuprofen and Aspirin not only fight fever and symptoms of acute respiratory infections, but also reduce headaches and toothaches.

It is worth grabbing and a few remedies to reduce fever: “Nimisulide”, “Paracetamol” and other powders or tablets.

But it’s important to note that taking antipyretics for longer than two weeks without a doctor’s supervision is not recommended.

Painkillers

Relieve spasmodic pain will help “No-shpa” and “Spasmalgon”, “Papaverine”, magnesium preparations. And headache and neuralgia will help to pacify “Ketonal” and the same “Ibuprofen”. But not to cure, but to relieve the symptom before visiting a doctor.

Drugs for the stomach

New water and food can cause discomfort in the gastrointestinal tract, and untreated or unwashed vegetables and fruits “from the bed” can disrupt the intestinal microflora and cause discomfort.

Sorbents, such as “Polysorb”, “Enterosgel” or “activated charcoal”, will help to remove slags and toxins from the body.

In severe digestive upset, poisoning and other unpleasant surprises will help “Smecta” (will adjust the microflora) and rehydron (replenish the lost fluid) – the drug can be given even to the youngest patients.

If anyone in your family suffers from allergies or any specific disease, it is recommended to consult a doctor first to take the necessary drugs and medicines with you. Rural areas are a high-risk area for allergic reactions to blooms, pollen, dust, etc.

Changes in the environment and water composition can affect skin sensitivity and hair condition. It is better to bring personal hygiene products that you are used to in order to avoid negative reactions.

If the rest area has internet and you are used to health tracking gadgets, you can bring along smart devices.
