“How to choose shoes in which your feet will not sweat too much? Let’s talk about the importance of targeting different models, the right materials and technologies.”

Why do feet sweat in sneakers?

Sweating is one of the body’s primary ways of thermoregulation. The body releases moisture, which evaporates and dissipates excess heat. The foot is one of the areas where a large number of sweat glands are located. There are not too many such areas. In addition to the feet, you can distinguish the axilla, groin area and palms.

There are various reasons for heavy sweating. If we do not take into account such pathology as hyperhidrosis of the foot (excessive activity of sweat glands), we can distinguish: high temperature and humidity, the intensity of physical activity and, finally, the inadequacy of shoes to the conditions of use. Also a negative factor will be the low-quality materials used in the production of sneakers.

How to choose “no sweat” sneakers

It is very important to take into account the weather in which the shoes will be used. For example, for walking or jogging in the heat, you need sneakers with a maximally ventilated upper. The outer part, tongue, heel cup, insole, and sometimes the midsole can be perforated to improve air exchange.

It should be understood that for comfortable indoor activities, whether it is a gym or an athletics arena, you need a mesh upper.

It is equally important to be concerned about the material from which the shoes for intensive training are made. It should be synthetic. Such a material better removes moisture and heat, thanks to which sweat is not retained. If the sneakers are made of artificial or even natural leather, the foot will not get enough ventilation.

Another important point to mention is socks. If for ordinary walks it is quite possible to use products made of cotton, then for physical activity is better to favor materials such as, for example, polyamide. Synthetics more evenly distributes moisture and promotes its drainage.

What to do if your feet sweat in sneakers?

The first thing to think about is whether the chosen shoes are suitable for your activities. Even sports models are very different from each other. Running in sneakers for barbell training? That’s definitely not a good idea. Your feet will sweat, and the shoes simply don’t have the options to deal with this problem. Running sneakers have exactly the right technologies that work to wick away moisture. These are the ones that you should use for cardio workouts.

In addition, see to it that the right shoe size is selected. After training and by the end of the day, the feet swell and increase by about half a size. If the sneakers are initially selected in a snug fit, moisture will not have space for drainage and evaporation. Then no synthetic materials will not cope with sweat.

If the shoes are selected correctly, but increased sweating of the feet persists and causes discomfort, you can try to solve the problem with other methods.

The most effective – use deodorant for feet. It not only captures excess moisture, but also neutralizes the unpleasant odor.

In addition, it is important to monitor the hygiene of your shoes. The insoles need to be changed regularly, as well as dried separately from the rest of the sneaker as it is used. The pair itself should be periodically treated with antibacterial impregnations. They will get rid of unpleasant odor and help to avoid discomfort.
