3 reasons not to exercise every day

Even professional athletes have at least one day to recover.

Is it possible to train every day?

Let’s figure it out together with fitness trainers.

“The more often I train, the faster I will get my figure in order,” – that’s what many people think. In the pursuit of a perfect body, people sometimes forget about health. And this can lead to serious consequences.

The most important thing is to distribute the load properly.

The risk of injuries increases
After exercise, the muscles should rest. If you continue exercising when the body has not had time to recover, the risk of injury increases many times over. You can avoid this by alternating exercise for different muscle groups or changing the direction of the workout. For example, load your legs instead of your arms or do cardio instead of strength training.

Disturbed sleep
The accumulation of fatigue leads to swelling and harms the body. Sleep is one of the ways to recover from training. And even minor violations of this process indicate overload, the need to change the type of activity and rest. And so much so that you want to start again.

Even professional athletes always have a rest day in their training plan, i.e. no training at all.

Is it possible to train every day?

If you still want to train every day, you need to distribute the load properly. In order not to harm your health, you can focus, for example, on this scheme: three strength training sessions, two cardio and two stretching sessions. At the same time, any activity that you can do for about an hour at about the same rhythm is suitable as a cardio load: running, dancing, swimming – choose what you like.

During training, muscles get micro-traumas – usually we feel their effects for the next couple of days, which is why you need to recover. You can do it actively – for example, jog a little, do some simple stretching, swim in the pool at a moderate pace. Or passively – go for a massage or to the sauna (but be careful with the latter).
