New sports that everyone needs to try

A new kind of tennis, go-karting on ice and other ideas how not to forget about training until summer.

If you think you’ve already tried all kinds of activities, we suggest getting acquainted with four more disciplines that are available even in the cold season.

Spikeball

This entertainment you can afford at home or on vacation, the main thing is to have the equipment. Spikeball is a mixture of a street game of “square” and beach volleyball. It is a game using a small net-trampoline, stretched 20 centimeters above the ground, and a small ball, similar in appearance to volleyball.

The rules are simple: two teams of two people stand on four sides of the trampoline and try to ricochet the ball from the net to the opponent’s side in three touches. A point is scored if the opponent is unable to convert the ball with a shot from the net. You can also play on your home court, but dress warmly – time flies by.

Ice Karting

These races are held on the frozen surface of water bodies or on a special track, which is covered with a layer of ice. U-turns, skids and slips on the kartodrome are guaranteed.

However, this type of karting is considered less dangerous, because on an icy track it is difficult to gain a really high speed – and therefore it is impossible and dangerous to fly out or unpleasantly collide with the fence.

Padel

One of the fastest growing sports in the last few years. It is a racquet game that incorporates elements of big and table tennis, squash and badminton. Padel is very simple and straightforward, and you can start playing in about 20 minutes after learning the rules.

Classic Padel is played two on two. It borrows the court markings and rules of the game from big tennis. From squash – transparent four-meter walls around the perimeter, which are involved in the game. And from ping-pong – the “bottom” serve and rackets.

Underwater diving

This is quite an extreme hobby that will require serious preparation from you. You can try to dive only under the guidance of experienced divers in special diving centers. There are such centers in the Moscow region, and in Baikal, and on the Volga coast.

Special techniques and additional safety elements are used for diving under the ice.

The depth of diving usually does not exceed 50 meters. Athletes are protected from hypothermia by a helmet made of thick neoprene and a sealed wetsuit, under which thermal underwear and warm clothes are worn. A powerful flashlight provides good visibility under water.

Flying in an aerotube

Aerotube is an inexpensive and safe way to experience the high speed of free flight 250-300 km/h. Such a flight gives the feeling of a parachute jump. In the tube the temperature and speed of the flow are regulated. Changes in air force make you dive down, soar up. You will definitely be accompanied by an instructor who will help you cope with the air currents.

Such experience is a very serious physical strain for the whole organism, so 3-5 minutes for the first time will be enough.
