How does 90's bodybuilding star Shawn Ray look like?

Now the “Destroyer of Giants” is a model family man.

In the 90s, the name of American Sean Ray was on the rumor, not only in his homeland, but all over the world. Having started his career as a bodybuilder at the age of 18, he brilliantly showed himself at junior competitions and in 1988 got the opportunity to compete at the “Mr. Olympia” tournament. At the time, Shawn only placed 13th. “I was too inexperienced, tired of endless travel, and besides, I was simply amazed by the desire to become the best, which radiated from the participants of the “Olympia” – he admitted in an interview.

Unsuccessful debut forced the young bodybuilder to train even harder and in 1990 he got into the top three of the tournament. Since then, up to 2001, Rey was one of the top five participants of “Mr. Olympia”.

Amazing proportions and aesthetic relief

“Genetic Miracle” is the nickname given to Rey by fans. All because the bodybuilder’s body was characterized by the proportionality of pumped muscles, he was considered one of the most aesthetic. Ray’s competitive weight did not exceed 100 kg, ranging from 93-97 kg. At the same time, the mass of other participants reached 110 kg or more.

Despite this difference, the bodybuilder was a worthy competitor in the competition due to the quality of his body. He had a perfected relief and excellent proportions. The most “strong” place of Sean Ray was considered the abs: symmetrical and relief. And thanks to a thin waist his figure looked even more harmonious.

The end of his professional career and personal life

The bodybuilder ended his sports career in 2001, disappointed in the objectivity of judges. Rey recalls: “I had a real chance to win at the Olympia in 1994. Dorian was giving way to me after an arm injury, but I didn’t know that supermass was in fashion. 1.5-centimeter broiler carcasses were valued over aesthetics.”

Now Shawn no longer has the relief he once had. Maintaining it requires daily hard workouts and strict adherence to a plan. But the ex-bodybuilder continues to watch his figure, regularly engages in sports and generally leads an active lifestyle.

In 2003, the bodybuilder got married, in marriage he had two daughters. Now Sean promotes young athletes, appears on television and radio, and also holds the position of editor-in-chief of Digital Muscle.
