How to grow microgreens at home

Je hebt nodig:

  • tray or plastic container;
  • Microgreens seeds;
  • sprayer;
  • ready-made substrate (e.g. coconut)
  • a paper towel or a thin cloth in the tray.

Step 1

Prepare the seeds. To make them germinate faster, soak them in warm water for a few hours or overnight.

Step 2

Prepare the container. If you have a tray with holes, place a paper towel or thin cloth in the bottom. Fill the container more than halfway with substrate. Flatten the surface without tamping it down.

Step 3

Sow the seeds. Spread them generously over the tray and press them down lightly with the palm of your hand or sprinkle a little substrate over them.

Step 4

Spray the seeds with water from a sprayer.

Step 5

Place the container in a warm and light place, for example, on the kitchen windowsill.

Water the microgreens as needed. The main thing is not to let the seeds dry out, but you should not water them abundantly either. Before watering, check the soil moisture with your hands.
