Every person should develop a habit of managing the most valuable resource – time. Because productivity and, as a consequence, success directly depend on its development. It is impossible to reach any heights if most of the time is spent on idleness, procrastination and uncertainty.

There are many methods of planning your time, but we will focus on two.

The first type of planning

The five-minute rule. This is how much time we spend in the evening to make a plan for the next day, taking into account all individual biorhythms. Because someone works better in the morning, someone – in the afternoon. Read about the benefits of rising early at the link below.

The five-minute rule is good because it combines organizational and biological aspects: plans and the physical ability to execute them in the best possible way.

All to-do’s should be categorized in order of importance. You can divide a piece of paper in half and create two columns: “mandatory” and “optional.” If your biorhythm favors productive work in the morning, then all tasks from the first column should be completed in the first half of the day.

After each completed task, you should take at least a five-minute break. Thanks to it, the focus of attention can be shifted to another task, concentrate on it and “close” the previous one. Of course, there are force majeure circumstances. In such a case, if it does not entail serious consequences, plans can be postponed. Items that were managed to cope with, are crossed out.

The second type of planning

The same A4 sheet is divided into four parts: “important”/”not important”, “urgent”/”not urgent”. We do “urgent” and “important” for the first two hours, then we take a break. Next come “urgent” and “not important”, which are also followed by a short rest – about an hour. Some of this list can be delegated, others can be postponed for the future. The result is an extremely productive day, at the end of which you can do things that are not necessary and not urgent at all.

All the plans we set from the evening should be realistic and have some common features. For example, that they should all be located in approximately the same location or have a common field of activity.

In this way, just five minutes of evening planning ensures that all resources are saved and efficiency is increased through streamlined actions and balanced decisions. Not to forget the usual satisfaction if the results of the activity turn out to be positive, which will lead to a number of changes in oneself and in relationships with loved ones and society as a whole.

Planning is a matter of habit, and at first it can be very difficult for someone who has never done it before. It is important not to confuse daily “planning” with “goals”. They are varied in terms of time spent on them, resources, etc. The right list will help you organize your life. What is worth writing down, told in the previous material.
