Millionaire’s diet: Michelle Monet lost 50 kg for the wedding

Michelle Monet, a well-known businesswoman in Great Britain, just loves to show off. When faced with the problem of excess weight, the founder of the lingerie empire decided not to follow the already known methods of weight loss, and developed her own. And even though some of the 29 rules of her diet are perplexing, it was this approach that helped the 48-year-old woman to lose 50 kilograms and get in shape before her wedding to billionaire Doug Barrowman.

Michelle admits that the advice of an acquaintance helped her choose the right path.

From slim model to full businesswoman

They say that money loves silence, but not in Monet’s case. Eccentric businesswoman regularly flashes on the pages of tabloids and does not hesitate to share details of her personal life. Michelle is sure that her example can help other women, because she was able to make an impressive career, without having any prerequisites.

The girl grew up in a disadvantaged area of Glasgow, at the age of 15 dropped out of school and after her father’s illness went into the modeling business to help her family get out of poverty. Stately and strong-willed Michelle could become a star of the catwalk, but at 19 married Michael Monet and gave birth to a daughter. The couple later had two more children. Energetic girl was not satisfied with the role of housewife, so she submitted a resume to a local beer factory and in just a couple of years rose to the position of marketing director.

After the dismissal Monet thought about her own business, but for a long time could not decide on the direction. The decision came unexpectedly. While dining at a restaurant, a woman was uncomfortable with an uncomfortable bra all evening and realized she could improve the design. This insight was the precursor to the creation of the world-famous Ultimo lingerie brand.

For several years, the woman invested all her energy and resources in the development of the business. Chronic lack of sleep, constant stress, unbalanced and irregular diet – all the problems did not go away for Michelle. By the time the company Monet has achieved great commercial success, about the modeling past of its owner no longer reminded anything. The woman at one point weighed almost 114 kg and felt uncomfortable next to the slim models at the shows, but her husband convinced Michelle that everything is fine, and prevented her attempts to lose weight.

How did the millionaire lose weight?

In 2011, the marriage of 20 years broke up, and Michelle had nothing to stop her from taking care of herself. By that time, she was already one of the most recognizable businesswomen of Great Britain and was even awarded the Order of the British Empire. Monet tried various diets, thanks to which she got rid of 25 kg. However, the lack of regular exercise and alcohol abuse prevented her from achieving a more significant result.

After the divorce, Monet’s life changed a lot. She sold her brainchild, founded a company for the production of auto-tanning products and actively engaged in politics. In 2015, Michelle entered the House of Lords, after which she secured the sarcastic nickname “Baroness Bra”. And thanks to her charisma and oratorical talent, the woman who made her fortune in lingerie has become a sought-after motivational speaker.

Monet lost 25 kg on a homemade diet

Things are also good in Monet’s personal life. In 2018, she got engaged to billionaire Doug Barrowman. The desire to shine at her own wedding prompted the 48-year-old woman to seriously engage in her figure and come to the desired form. Michelle stopped drinking two bottles of wine a day, began to enjoy the gym and run 5-8 kilometers a day. She admits that she was set on the right path by the advice of an acquaintance:

Treat your body like your business.

As a result, Mona managed to lose weight to 65 kg. She advises daily exercise for at least an hour, changing types of activity: dancing, cycling, aerobics, gym. Michelle also insists on a gradual reduction of portions during meals. And the main secret of such an impressive result she calls a diet of 29 points, which she invented and formulated herself.

Each point has a short justification, but some of them still cause surprise:

  • cranberries, eggs, canola oil, chicken, meat, baked beans, canned corn, and cow’s milk are banned;
  • fruit, dried fruit, yogurt, and cheese are minimized;
  • it is forbidden to bake food in foil or foil;
  • fish and seafood should not be consumed more than three times a week.

At the same time, the Monet diet also contains rules from common and popular programs:

  • consume as many vegetables as possible;
  • drink only fresh juices, but not more than once a day;
  • eat almonds, Brazil nuts and walnuts in small quantities;
  • eat only whole-grain bread;
  • replace sunflower oil with olive oil;
  • avoid frying foods.

Monet’s diet is made intuitively and not all of its points have a scientific basis. But the main thing is that the famous businesswoman believes in its effectiveness. Hardly anyone will deny that in her 49 years Michelle looks simply amazing.
