Sweet eaters will always find a reason to eat their favorite sweets, and a reason not to “work them off”. But many people do not even realize the scale of the “tragedy” – if you do not “pay off” in time for Friday nights with pizza and coke, all the harmful calories will immediately settle on the problem areas. Especially for fans of junk food, we have prepared a visual aid: how many hours in the gym “costs” fast food. Here are 10 popular dishes that you will have to work out for half a day.
Standard Big Mac
Calorieën: 490 kcal = 50 minutes of intense cardio (running, aerobics, elliptical).
It would take 1 hour and 8 minutes to expend the same amount of calories through strength training. And if you add a portion of fries to your burger, you’ll have to double the workload.
Large latte
Calorieën: 350 kcal = 1 hour 39 minutes of yoga or strength training.
Dancing will take 1 hour 6 minutes, walking 1 hour 18 minutes, rollerblading 39 minutes, cardio and cycling 37 minutes. Even a small glass of drink contains 90 kcal. And that’s 15 minutes of cardio or 20 minutes of strength training.
A standard serving of French fries
Calorieën: 434 kcal = 50 minutes on the treadmill or 1 hour 4 minutes of strength training.
Keep in mind, this is almost a quarter of your daily calorie allowance.
A slice of margarita pizza
Calorieën: 250 kcal = 50 minutes of running or strength exercise.
For other cardio, the “price” is higher – 59 minutes, and walking will take 1 hour and 23 minutes. What to talk about if the slice will be more than one.
A large glass of sweet soda
Calorieën: 210 kcal = 40 minutes of burpees or 30 minutes of intense aerobics.
Those who love water workouts will need one hour of water aerobics.
Fried chicken wings (6 pieces).
Calorieën: 642 kcal = 1.5 hours of cardio or 1 hour 15 minutes of circuit training.
You can run a half marathon instead.
Glass of dark beer
Calorieën: 237 kcal = 50 minutes of intense cardio or cycling.
Jogging will take 35 minutes. But who wants to exercise after drinking alcohol?
Chocolate bar
Calorieën: 507 kcal = 71 minutes of jogging or 1.5 hours of strength training.
Stretching and yoga will take about 2 hours. And yes, even a small candy bar weighing only 50 grams also has a lot of calories: about 250 kcal, which is 59 minutes of cardio. Opting for bitter chocolate will save you 30 minutes.
Philadelphia rolls
Calorieën: 355 kcal = 99 minutes of walking or 39 minutes of running.
There is another solution – give up lunch or dinner. But that’s not entirely healthy.
Average pack of chips
Calorieën: 510 kcal = 30 minutes on the elliptical and another 30 minutes of circuit training.
Or you could run 10.5 kilometers – that’s the danger of an unhealthy snack.
Whenever you feel like eating something unhealthy, remember these numbers (you can see the full list here). If the deed is already done, go to the gym – in this case you can minimize the consequences. Better yet, opt for a healthy diet. This will save a lot of time and effort. Do not forget about training too: physical activity accelerates metabolism. And calories continue to be burned even after exercise. Strength training, for example, boosts your metabolism by 30%. And even ordinary stretching improves blood circulation, which has a beneficial effect on digestion.
