Very often, when we watch movies and TV series, we take these pictures as ideal and try to implement them into our reality. But it happens that cinema dictates to us unhealthy patterns of behavior that we try to repeat. Even though we shouldn’t.

Made a selection of movies whose heroes set the wrong example.
The movie “Moscow does not believe in tears”. The romanticization of lying
This is one of the fundamental movies that demonstrates an unecological principle of building relationships between a man and a woman. The heroes constantly deceive each other, talk about non-existent money and success. Globally, their relationship begins with lies.
Further in the course of the movie, the heroine of Vera Alentova – Katerina – continues to deceive, this time her new acquaintance – Gosha. She lies to him about her financial situation, professional status, which eventually leads to a major quarrel.
Such a model of behavior in no case should not be taken as a benchmark. It is important to realize that in our time in relationships it is necessary to be in honesty, openness. After all, in fact, the partner chooses you as you are. It is foolish to present yourself in any other way, because sooner or later the truth will come out.
Cinderella. Sacrifice and irresponsibility
Many of us were brought up on this beautiful fairy tale, and after all, it praises sacrifice and infantilism. In Cinderella from childhood nurture diligence and obedience, a little later she is taught to serve everyone around, suppressing their own desires and aspirations. In this state of affairs, the girl grows up in a complete devaluation of herself.
The second negative moment: she is instilled with the dream of a prince. But, unfortunately, when we grow up hoping that a beautiful prince will come and save us, do everything for us, in the end nothing good comes out of it. Because one way or another with every prince you have to be able to dialog, to build a household, to feel your inner value next to him, and not to be his maid.
In fact, Cinderella does not value herself at all and waits for salvation from the outside. Here, of course, we are not talking about a healthy relationship between a man and a woman, where the partners are equal, including in the value of each other.
The movie Bridget Jones’s Diary. Disrespecting and condoning
On the one hand, in this movie we see a great quality in a person is the acceptance of themselves no matter what they are. The heroine throughout the movie shows that it is possible to love yourself in any form and still be desirable to men. At the same time, there is a negative pattern of behavior: the heroine completely forgets about a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition.
At first glance, the heroine has a deep value of herself, but at the same time she shows disrespect for her body. She shows that it is possible to be ungroomed, wearing ugly underwear, unkempt clothes. So when we watch this movie, on the one hand, we learn to value and accept ourselves, and on the other hand, we engage in condoning our own weaknesses.
What does this movie teach us? That there is a beautiful balance in everything. It is very important to love yourself, but also not to forget to take care of yourself, look after your body and proper nutrition.
The movie Pretty Woman. An unecological view of love
This story is reminiscent of the fairy tale about Cinderella, but in a non-ecological interpretation: as we all remember, the main character earns her living through the first oldest profession. Young girls, having watched the movie, can take it as a basis for a life scenario: they will go into easy relationships, expect that Richard Gere will come and arrange a luxurious life. This, of course, happens, but these are isolated stories.
It is important to remember that in real life partners are on equal footing. In a relationship, you need to develop, get an education, appreciate and respect yourself. After all, one way or another with a rich, intelligent, successful man you need to be on the same wavelength.
In this article we talked about movie heroes with whom you should not take an example, and explained why. But there are many characters in movies that you should be equal to, and they are not always positive. Read about which characters we are talking about in this article.
