How much does health cost and can you save money on healthy living?

“ZOZH”, “PP” – popular abbreviations, the deciphering of which almost everyone knows. To be healthy means to be in trend. And due to recent events in the world, the topic has become more relevant than ever. However, many people believe that eating right is very expensive and not available to everyone. What should those whose financial possibilities are limited do? For advice we turned to Vlada Grishkevich, a certified specialist in functional nutrition, an expert nutritionist.

How to save money on proper nutrition?

I often have to face the opinion that proper nutrition is available only to the rich. And no less often I have to debunk this myth. Let’s get back to the question of what real food is. First and foremost, it is food that does not contain unnecessary ingredients. If you have limited funds, don’t think about foods labeled “eco”, superfoods and exotic foods. Just opt for kale, beets, carrots, turnips, pumpkins, and apples instead of a pack of cereal, waffles, lemonade, and cookies.

In the summer, when fresh herbs, fruits and berries are more available, you can make preparations, freeze them for the winter. It is not possible to buy selected meat – take by-products, they are much cheaper and healthier. Take your child on the weekend not to McDonald’s, but to the park, taking a basket of apples and carrots – it will be cheaper than hamburgers, French fries and Coca-Cola.

How can we make health cheaper?

Sleep costs nothing, and if it could be put into the form of a drug, it would be the number one drug in the world. It’s the same with physical activity. You don’t have to buy an expensive membership to a fancy gym. The best physical activity is walking. Park your car in the farthest parking space, get off the bus two stops early and walk, don’t use elevators.

Morning exercise takes 10 minutes and can be done by everyone, regardless of finances.
Sunshine is available to everyone. Fresh air, walks in the forest or park – too.

By following these simple rules, after a while you’ll start saving money on medications and be able to save more for healthy foods. Instead of wasting time on doctor’s appointments at the clinic, you’ll be able to spend time with family and friends. You’ll have more energy and strength, you’ll sleep better, and you’ll start thinking differently. You will look better, feel better, stop getting sick – again, saving money on medications. And saving your nerves is priceless.

There are tons of strategies for people on a tight budget. Real, healthy food and lifestyle is much more affordable than many people realize.
