The price of ingredients for the favorite New Year’s dish according to the calculations of experts from Rusprodsoyuz has decreased. The decline is small, but the figures have decreased, which is encouraging.
Such a trend has been noted for the first time in the last five years. Last year, for example, the cost of salad ingredients soared by 15%.
Olivier, without which no New Year’s feast of Russians can do without, will cost an average of 375 rubles in 2022. This is 0.4% less, or almost one and a half rubles cheaper than last year. The calculation was made for four portions of salad (about 800-1000 g).
The decrease in cost was due to cheaper vegetables, which are included in the classic salad recipe.
Let’s break down the index for each ingredient:
- potatoes (500 g) decreased by 33%, the average cost per 1 kg is 30 rubles;
- carrots (200 g) fell in price by 28%, the price for 1 kg is now 28 rubles;
- chicken eggs (4 pcs. ) dropped by almost 2%, a dozen of eggs costs about 79 rubles;
- fresh cucumbers (2 pcs.) also became cheaper by 21%, the price for 1 kg is about Br100;
- onions (100 g) became cheaper by 8%, the cost does not exceed Br30 per 1 kg;
- green peas (100 g) increased in price by 8%, the average price for a can of 400 g – 90 rubles;
- boiled sausage (300 g), on the contrary, went up in price by 9%, 1 kg costs Br478 on average;
- mayonnaise (200 g) is also included in the group of increased in cost, the price soared by 16% – for 1 kg will have to pay an average of 280 rubles.
What is better to make olivier with: chicken or sausage?
Traditional for Russians olivier is prepared with doctor’s sausage. In this form, it is more familiar to us. But recently this ingredient began to be replaced by chicken or beef.
