Why do not appear abs?

Svetlana Kanevskaya

“Many people believe that visible abs are the ultimate achievement of physical fitness. However, the mere fact of having relief abs is not necessarily an indicator of health, especially if you follow too strict a diet to make them more visible. In fact, very often everything depends on genetics and anatomy.”

The anatomy of muscles and the peculiarities of their formation and development are different in all people. That’s why the rectus abdominis, also known as the six-pack muscles, vary in appearance.

There are other factors that can affect the development of the abs, including conditions such as scoliosis or exercising with a focus on one side of the body.

Technically, we all already have abs, but those muscles may not show through. The main factors that determine abdominal abs definition include:

  • Body fat percentage;
  • water retention;
  • the size and strength of the abdominal muscles themselves.

Reducing the percentage of body fat is key to this issue. Fat deposits fall into two categories: subcutaneous and visceral.

  1. Subcutaneous fat is located beneath the skin. It provides an insulating and cushioning layer.
  2. Visceral fat surrounds our internal organs. In large amounts, it can lead to serious health problems such as metabolic disorders, heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

Therefore, the less subcutaneous and visceral fat a person has, the easier it is to outline the abs because nothing covers them from view.

How to achieve relief

About 70% of any fitness goal is achieved through a balanced diet. The other 30% comes from proper strength training and endurance exercises.

Your diet and exercise should keep your body fat percentage low. It takes about a month to lose even a small portion of it with regular exercise and proper diet.

The stronger and bigger a person’s abs are, the easier it will be to see through a balanced diet and professionally selected exercise.
