Favorite exercises of three-time world snowboarding champion Mathieu Crepel.
In snowboarding, like any other sport, you can’t forget about warming up. We have already shared five basic exercises for a good stretch and warm-up from rider Anna Orlova, whom we met at the Quiksilver New Star Camp snowboard festival in Sochi.
Now it’s the turn of the tough men’s warm-up. Professional snowboarder, surfer, Quiksilver pro rider and world champion Mathieu Crepel shared his training secrets.
Alternating jumps
Help strengthen the quadriceps and calves. These jumping movements are very important in snowboarding, they help to improve the quality of your board jumps.
Running
I love running in the mountains. I love trail running because it gives me the opportunity not only to feel at one with nature, but also to do a great cardio workout.
Single leg squat
This exercise allows you to actively work your leg muscles while practicing balance control, which is especially important in snowboarding and surfing.
Spinning jumps
This excellent high-intensity exercise combines sharp explosive movements with another important element – rotations. They allow you to bring your brain and body together to control the degree of rotation and perform similar tricks on a snowboard.
Reverse push-ups
This important exercise works not only the triceps, which you’ll need for surfboarding, but also the hamstrings in your legs.
