The life of a sanitary doctor is connected with frequent travel. Therefore, it is very difficult to observe the drinking regime. As a result, my tests became worse: oxalates and urates appeared. General well-being was unimportant. It was accompanied by lethargy, hypotonia, dry skin, increased microcracks. It was decided to restore a normal drinking regimen and consume about two liters of fluid per day. I will tell you what came out of it.

I calculated it according to a well-known and simple formula: 30 ml of liquid multiplied by 1 kg of weight. My weight is 75 kg, so the total volume per day will be 2250 ml. But this does not mean that you should drink only water. The norm is made up of several components:

  • water, which was formed in the process of natural metabolism in the body – not less than 10% (in my case – about 225 ml);
  • liquid from food – at least 30% (about 625 ml);
  • pure and simple water – 60% (about 1400 ml). I divided the volume into seven glasses to be drunk in a 24-hour period.

My day started with 250 ml of pure water on an empty stomach. I drink it immediately after waking up. At first it was difficult to follow the new regime, so I had to set a “reminder”. Gradually I stopped drinking tea in the mornings, which was always accompanied by unhealthy salty sausage or cookies.

As a result, my blood pressure came back to normal. Waking up now is not like a session of “resurrection from the dead”. I began to turn on to work more easily, I felt more alert, and my drowsiness and lethargy disappeared. By the end of the month, my skin no longer needed tons of moisturizer. But most importantly, the tests became better, I managed to prevent the development of urolithiasis.

When do I need more than two liters? In the heat and with high physical activity. In this case, fluid intake increases to 4-5 liters.

The lack of water in the body is signaled by the feeling of thirst. It arises from the excitation of a special center of our brain – hypothalamus. With the loss of more than 1/4 of fluid in the body occur irreversible processes that can be life-threatening due to dehydration.

My four-year-old daughter followed my example. Her test results showed high levels of urates. These are uric acid crystals. On the recommendation of a pediatric urologist, we bought a cooler from which she pours and drinks water herself. Two months later we repeated the tests and everything was normal.

A very correct approach to calculating the norm. This indicator will be individualized for everyone. Despite the fact that the total volume includes liquid from food, it is necessary to accustom oneself to the consumption of purified water. After all, the average person consists of 70% of it (the figure varies depending on age: infants – 90%, elderly people – 50%). It is important to maintain a drinking regimen.

Any drink passes through the digestive tract in transit. If we drink tea with sugar, the body must digest and assimilate it. In addition, this beverage contains tannins, which also need to be properly digested, assimilated and excreted. Which means it is a food.

It must be said that the liquid must also be “special”. In no case should we drink distillate, it is important for us to consume electrolytes (sodium, magnesium, potassium). Therefore, table water is excellent for the daily diet.
